Let's kick this horse again; Stuck-In-Combat-Bug!

Blizzard, please acknowledge this bug and admit you can’t figure out how to fix it. Give us a (heirloom) toy that lets us drop out of combat. Be it a Feign Death, or Invisiblity… ANYTHING.
Give it a 30min timer or even an hour.

If you got suggestions or counters, please post them.

Try reloading ui, it might work.

I tried, it didn’t work. It was in ‘End Time’ where the end boss doesn’t… disappear?
I had to force the game to shut down and wait 15min.

“It’s not a bug, it’s an exciting new feature!!!” - Blizzard

Just kidding, it’s really annoying and I wish they would fix it after all these years. There have been times where I have had to force quit the game because of that bug.

Weird. I’ve never had that happen to me in End Time.

I’ll be dead before I see my Feign Death in the hands of an elf non-hunter!

What you talking about Willis? this Xpac has NO PROBLEMS runs so smoothly (NOT)

Have you tried switching to assassination or subtlety? badum tsh

I got this to clear once all by itself.

Go…

Use the restroom
Take clothes out of washer, hang them or put in dryer to dry
Put new load of wash in
Get something to drink

And 10 minutes later it’s all gone.

Most times.

Yeah, not going to lie, the stuck in combat bug sucks. I really wish that it was easier to tell what you are in combat with. Places like Siege of Boralus M+ for my group of friends is notorious for accidentally agroing NPC’s we are entirely unaware of. NPC’s that are already fighting other NPC’s so you don’t really know you are in combat with them because they don’t come for you.

I think that it would be great if there were some better way to identify what you are stuck in combat with and where they are at the very least.

Hard pass… Such utility does not need to be tied to an Heirloom. That would be far too powerful, pull away from class or race specific abilities, and at such a long cooldown would it actually solve the problem or just become frustrating when you use it then 5-10 minutes later have the same issue pop up.

Personally, I think making it much clearer to see what you are stuck in combat with would help quite a bit. Not only on the player side of things where you can go “Oh, I just need to kill that guy” but also would help in singling out when a situation is bugged. Like an enemy you can’t kill still being flagged as you being in combat with it.

It’s also surprising how often you can get stuck in combat because you managed to agro but not kill a critter without realizing it XD

True, but that seems harder to do than ‘just’ give us a toy that can remove the combat.
I’m trying to suggest the easiest way out.

I was checking out the beta forums and a player mentioned that this bug seemed to be wayless/non prevalent. Hoping its true as millions of players all get in

I sometimes wonder if this is like a one or the other choice where if they mess with this it becomes even more glitched, is that giving them the benefit of the doubt too much?

The critters! That is where it comes from, maybe you did an AOE somewhere and it aggroed a tiny critter, who is trying to catch up to you, but you are too far away or out of its range. Who knows? I use any stealth ability or log off and back in. Sometimes running away will help, or just get in legit combat with something and kill it.

Yes, I agree it is annoying.

Looool… How is that so? Several classes already have this ability baked in since Vanilla. Just sucks for the OP because they are a Warlock and don’t have any… If Blizz can’t fix the game and refuse to give a toy that does, then give every class the ability to drop combat.

Nazjatar is the worst when it comes to stuck in combat. Haven’t gotten stuck in combat in a while though. When it happens it really is not fun…

Unfortunately its a creature that slipped through the world. Thats what my thought process is. You see so many of these creatures stuck in the world and every once and a while you see a sliver of them poking out of the ground. Thats literally what I think and I think its pretty spot on.

Invisible potions works most of the time.

Seems like you killed it too fast and bugged the “boss is killed event”. I guess he kept at 1 health and you could still hit him right?

Try hitting with autoattack only in the first 3 seconds so he could finish the first dialog line.

Edit: Another thing you can do is having a weapon with the summon tentacle corruption to pinpoint where the hidden enemy is ( the tentacle hits in a straight line in a very very long distance, 50+ I think). To proc it just spam any skill you could spam

There’s a group of these in Nazmir at one of the “Azerite Woooooonds” areas, four little tiny tentacles buried in the ground (I think they’re unique to just this area) which seem to have one function - to aggro you if you come near them, and NEVER drop aggro no matter how far away you go, even to another zone.

Until I finally figured out what was causing the bug, I would just sigh, alt-F4 and come back later.
