It’s a fluid identifier and everyone has their own opinion on what it is. Folks will never settle with a specific definition.
I do 15s and Mythic raid. I’m certainly not the most casual but would say I fall closer into casual than hardcore territory.
The more I think about it, people playing casually are strictly there for a fun time with others or themselves.
If your goals are purely progression based I would say you start drifting away from casual territory.
You can have goals and be skilled as a more casual player for sure, but when the goal itself is the reason and having fun is practically secondary you aren’t casual.
anyone who is 5 dps points below you. not 50, 500, or 5k, but 5 dps points lower than. thats what a casual is. and if they are above you? well they are just a casual that got carried. basically anyone that isnt you is a casual.
Casual = not as hardcore as me bro. I raid 7 days a week, traveling to the raids by rp walking through every mob I see on the way, completely in the buff. I beat the game 3 times a week and pvp by smashing my face into my keyboard. I once spent a whole night in moonguard goldshire as a worgen. I camp for time lost proto drake still even though I’ve already looted it six times before. I beat kiljaeden in an arm wrestling match while shaving my beard with my other hand. I even maxed out archeology once!
J/k lol
Imma huge casual.
Let me start with the positive.
I am totally with you on this —>
BUT …
I did not ask you to define what a casual is for me. What I actually said was -->
Us … We … together … community discussion about how WE could agree on what it meant or not.
Not even CLOSE to the same thing. So either you have a comprehension problem (for which I am sorry I know it can be hard). Or your just a jerk throwing his “weight” around because this topic annoys you.
Either way I appreciate your input that was relevant and are disgusted by your toxic attitude … so I’m naturally conflicted about whether to ignore you or not now
Naturally but to argue the point for the sake of it can be amusing even if it doomed to fail.
I mean when you boil it down, this game is a literal waste of time for the metaphorical 99%. Unless you are literally paid to be playing this game or somehow have your income based on it, you are paying Blizzard for something that only has intangible value. One day (hopefully a very long time from now), these servers will be shut down for good and the literal years a person can and has invested will suddenly be worth nothing. Your awesome gear, the hundreds or thousands of mounts, pets, mogs, etc…all gone and with you having spent who knows how many actual dollars and cents (or whatever respective currency you use) and years of your life completely gone.
Even this post “cost” me something like 2-5 minutes to think up and craft. I’m getting nothing for it other than the satisfaction of making my point. I highly doubt anyone who reads it will have a change of view or it even last in your active short term memory for more than a moment.
My reply did come off as a little aggressive, I do apologize. I see what you were trying to do.
Some of these proclaimed “casual” legit have 3-5 alts and probably have more total playtime for the tier than some of the Method/Limit player.
This man has a brain!!!
Though, as you stated, the discussion is worth having for one reason or another. As is any human interaction. And I like to interact
Aha you’re here to troll people, noted.
This is false. Players paid to play the game (as in this is legit their careers) actually spend an extremely high amount of time and playing day to day. Obviously once a tier/race is over they slow down, but there is always skills to develop and upkeep and alts to build up in case balance changes “require” them to change and whatnot.
It would be accurate to say there are “casuals” who play more than someone who has cutting edge and/or KSM and accomplishes that and their necessary maintenance in less hours per week, but I’d also very much wager those people are also a pretty severe minority.
Ah yes, anyone who counters the narrative of ‘Blizzard bad’ is a troll. People may have different opinions than you. Does that shock you so much?
LOL that’s cute
no
I also apologize. I may have had a bit of malice in tone of my reply.
wait …
what? …
What are the forums coming to?? There’s some civilized conversation happening here and I’m unsure how to handle that
Casual is a broad term that encompasses many people with many play styles.
It’s usually used to describe players that can’t or won’t do high level progression-type content (Raiding, mythic+, Rated PvP).
i would say…
someone that either , doenst go over m+8 or Get into M CN
213 is like THE wall for anything considered casual on my book
casual is a bad who hates being called bad but does not hate being bad.
Everyone on the forums is a casual, case closed.
