I think it would be rad if we could upgrade any past trinket to current tier using scaling ilevel tech.
I know min/maxers would probably only use a few of them but it’s such a shame that there so many cool on use/proc based trinkets in game that are complete trash now.
I could see it as a useful method of making some old world content and trade materials as useful if it was a significant material sink to make an upgradeable ilevel booster. This would also add to the rarity and unf and pursuit of using that trinket you got attached to.
Let’s it cost 1000 of various trade goods from its own specific expansion and/or required particular boss kills to empower it, etc?

I want an ilvl 600 Cunning of the Cruel since they butchered snapshotting and how UVoLS works. Make it happen, Blizzard.
Blizzard has spent the last three expansions refusing to give players any sort of upgrade they couldn’t crumple up and throw away at the end of the expansion.
What, you wanted new talents? Too bad. Here are some carnival goldfish upgrades that’ll be dead soon - don’t get attached. Anything that might make Blizzard have to think beyond the current patch is effectively verboten.
The chances of them doing anything like that, where they’d then have to continue to support every wacky bogus trinket and trinket combination from here to eternity is wholly unthinkable.

Only problem with that is how easy it is to get old trinkets. I can just spam firelands till i get trinket a or seige for trinket b.
I like the idea though.
Yeah thr ease of attainment would be balanced by several components needed to make a series of upgrades to obtain it. A component of which could drop from current tier mythics or raids.
During the tbc timewalking I remember wishing that tyrandes memento (forget the name - heal trinket from illidan in black temple) was high enough ilvl to use over the trinkets I had equipped.
That’s what started my wish for having timewalking gear be relevant to higher end players and not just catch up.
I mean - it would not break the game in any way lol so I agree with you.
I kinda wish we could use more from previous expansions. I hate how gear is completely useless after the next patch

Yeah agreed. Time walking isn’t enough. If we had a component system that could be part of it. Say…
- 1000 time warped badges
-_______'s from current tier bosses
- 1000 basic materials from expansion of trinkets origin

Gear from trivial content should not trump gear from current high end content.
That just creates tedious grinds that high end players need to go through.

is really adding a heroic level black temple trinket to the game going to trivialize anything in current raids on the heroic level? lol
plus there’s only a few trinkets better than dungeon gear in mythic raids. otherwise they’re complete trash. (at least for a healer).

No, but it would force people to farm it if it was any good.
Timewalking stuff can already titanforge AFAIK, so there’s already that in a way.
Trinkets? no, too many, too hard to balance them all, and way too easy to get.
Legendaries? yeah i think that would be cool, every class has a legendary weapon now. some more then others but with a few added, sure.
yeah true i guess…i still think black temple timewalking was just as challenging as more than half of EP on heroic lol
but you have a good point with that i guess…you only get a week to farm the item too which is a bummer
I think all they could possibly do with this is make the whole loot table like BfA loot were you just have to keep getting higher iLvL versions of the same thing.
They just can’t keep adding and adding over the course of decades.
Are you suggesting a random proc trinket from current tier that would be awarded instead of set trinkets from particular bosses?
Cause that could be cool even it was rng hell.
they also have those “titanforging” items that you use to upgrade your trinket like the ones you get at Antorus and the end of Hellfire Citadel…it’s like a weekly thing you apply to up the ilvl of the trinket…that wouild be cool too!
Let them die…if you could just boost anything nothing would have sentimental value.
I would love to have a BfA capable Ooker Dooker fighting with me.

They need to make trinkets like classic again. No item level and they only have a gimmick for the most part.
