Azeroth getting permanently revamped is one of the reasons many of us don’t want to move on to Cata. Losing the old zones and their quests just doesn’t feel good at all. If we had the option to go back, that would remove one of my objections to Cata. This is already done in Retail for various zones, so we know it’s possible.

Some of the quest lines are removed on purpose and shouldn’t be re-added. In fact most, significant storylines/dungeon tier upgrade quests should stay out. You can farm them now and get the items prior to removal. That is all there is left to do in wotlk classic for 4 months. On the fence with ZG gotta draw the line somewhere. You want something from ZG hit it now. Otherwise, where do they draw the line with going back and adding OG naxx and Atiesh questline etc etc etc.
That being said, the option to visit the old world and generic quest hubs would be a cool cata change.
Content should never be removed from the game, whether it be a dungeon, raid, or quest.

Wanna know when people began to start asking for Vanilla servers? When Cata launched all those years ago. And now it is happening again. Blizzard is making a big mistake here. They are going to regret this. Your entire Classic world…gets destroyed with Cata. Only Wrath and TBC zones stay the same apart from the added battlepets. Cata = retail WoW.

Eh, sure. I don’t get why anyone would want to go back to the old world, but them having that option doesn’t hurt my enjoyment of the revamped zones

Better solution is for cataclysm to be on its own realms, not patch on top of wrath.
Original Cata was total lee for the boomkin druids…but so was all of original Wrath for the rets. This time though, rets kinda sucked for most of Wrath. So I would not be surprised if druids aren’t that good this time around for Cata. Ak for Cata all you want, none of us are going to get the version of it that we remembered or that we asked for. But it more than likely will be a lot closer to original Cata then this version of Wrath was to original Wrath as most of the team that made original Cata is still here.
I mean…Classic Era exists and will continue to exist. The old Azeroth will always be there.
You mean the thing that just happened in Retail a couple of months ago, allowing access to Old Scholo and Naxx 1.0?
I do sort of agree, since there’s an area of the Timeless Isle that’s effectively impossible to get to since the Legendary Cloak questline that let you get there got removed.
