I took my wife’s boosted character there through a portal, on my mage, and flew her to where you meet up with Durotan, near the garrison. Since she was 120, she had to turn on the ability to show low level quests, in the mini map options. Had her garrison in like 15 minutes. That was just a few weeks ago, so it certainly still works fine.
Just have to cut down a few trees and kill a few mobs.
And when I posted my OP I didn’t know there was an npc down the hill away from the garrison who would start the quest to unlock the garrison. I found that out from others who politely stated such in this thread.
But, let me say this, for the millionth time, IF they are going to send you a breadcrumb to speak with Khadgar at the Dark Portal, give us the option to say “I’ve heard this story before.”
I don’t care if they added a million other ways to get around it, IF THEY ARE GOING TO SEND US TO KHADGAR AT THE DARK PORTAL, give us the option to skip the intro THERE.
Yes, that would save having to find the way there, and there is certainly precedent to do that.
It’ll probably never happen - I doubt that Blizzard is going to devote development resources to fix something that isn’t broken in WoD - but good on 'ya for trying.
They’ve done it for other intro quest chains in the game.
Someone here is coming off rude uninformed and unappreciative. …and I dont like it!!! Its a SALP in Teh FCAE to everyone who tried to help.
The quest that leads you into WOD can give you alot of quick experience though. I do think they should reduce the cost to upgrade a garrison since they nerfed it so hard at the end of the expansion.
Sure, they do it now, in current content. WoD is three expansions old, though, and there is an existing way to bypass the WoD intro quests. So there’s nothing broken there, no bug to fix. People who want to skip the intro quests, can skip the intro quests.
You just want it hand-delivered and set in your lap.
I just don’t see that happening.
I want Blizzard to use logic for once. And I don’t really care if you see it happening or not… it’s not up to you.
Hadn’t thought about this - it would make sense to allow to skip that content as well as the ‘arriving to pandaria’ content. LOTRO does this, actually: it lets you skip the intro quest if you have a flag that you completed it once. So it just flags those quests done and gives you the gold and exp (approx) and drops you in the starter zone.
Would be a bit harder for Legion artifacts because those can be done in any order…
Agreed.
Yet… you keep replying to me.
Like I said, I couldn’t care less if it happens or not. I just don’t think it will. If I were to level another toon through WoD, I’d take the MoP portal, and pick up the garrison quests. I don’t need that to be hand-delivered and set in my lap, but I’d use it if it were there.
Being logical would not include having development resources change something from three expansions ago that isn’t broken, especially with all the problems (perceived or otherwise) with current content. Doing that would be illogical, and a waste.
Blizzard does this in WoW too, for most every other intro quest chain in multiple expansions. They just missed this one, but that doesn’t mean they can’t include it now.
And I really don’t think adding an option to skip the intro would take all that much time and man power.
I’d love an option to skip alot of the tedious stuff if you have done it before. Panda starting zone, death knight starting zone, worgen and goblin zones come to mind.
I have the garrison … resources are being accumulated…
but no quests and construction does not seem to be progressing
so how do i make progress please anyone?
Don’t see that happening chief. With leveling being reworked you’ll be leveling through an entire expansion 10-50 come shadowlands. All that irrelevant content becomes relevant.
….it takes like 10 minutes or less to create your garrison. You cut some trees, kill some wildlife, talk to a few NPCs and BAM. You got your garrison.
So much this. I don’t care about the damn opening scenario after the billionth time. Drop me in the level 1 Garrison and let me go about questing as normal. Definitely looking forward to never returning to WoD with new toons after Shadowlands.
I could go with this too. Call me crazy but I like that “meet the warlords” beginning lol!!
I don’t think they want to encourage WoD table farming. I noticed the same thing. Will get to it at some point. The quests there are messed up somewhat on boosted toons, I had to reboot a few times.
yes but you still have to drag your mule through the getting to the start point for getting the garrison. Then it won’t progress and there are no quests.
How does that work?
