Well, dragonflying was new and restricted to only a few mounts, then it became SkyRiding not too long after and opened to a lot of older mounts.
So Iʻm hopeful.
Not sure what the criteria are for follower dungeons, If there is some new DF-TWW only code in those dungeons that allows the followers.

Step 1, make new toon.
Step 2, select shadowlands chromie time.
Step 3, profit.
Option 2.
You are level 80. Go to shadowlands and solo the dungeons.
Profit.

Its old content lol. Go do the old content at 80 or make a new toon. Idk why that is so difficult.

All they really need are bots that know the routes and do basic tanking strats. The former is tech that dungeon boosters and gold farmers have been using for years, and they made the latter themselves for proving grounds 
folks will probably have to take the long routes in the dungeons if they work like Hunter/warlock pets. Once you jump down Marudon falls/ Gnomeregon they will go the long way around to get to you and pull everything with them.
If the point of Followers is a teaching tool for new players, those players won’t know the skips etc so that’ll be a non-issue. And even if the new player does do that and the AI following them pulls everything, that’s a valuable lesson!
It’s more fun with a bit of a challenge. I think steamrolling through dungeons with a solo OP character is boring is heck.
