Let us do older dungeons with followers! Why not Blizzard!?!?

The problem: I didn’t do Shadowlands. I want to come back and do the old quests and campaigns. But the dungeon is restricted to max lv 70.

Just let me do the damm dungeon with the followers!! What’s wrong with you blizzard, keep letting players down will only push everybody away from your game!

What’s the problem I’m level 80!? If you want to restrict it so badly, so phase me into level 70 while in the dungeon, and just let me go!!!

The same with all other dungeons, I want to do the old content now that I have the time that I never had before. I’m sure that this happens to a whole big amount of players, if not everybody!

The same can be applied to all other old content dungeons, just let us use Dungeon Finder to get into all other previous dungeons with followers, even if we have to get lowered to the ‘max level of that dungeon’. We don’t care, just let us make a better use of the old content!

I can go alone, but it’s boring, nobody is interested in playing with friends anymore in this game, don’t tell me to go find friends, I don’t want any! I just want to play when I have the free time.

So why not, blizzard, just why!!??

Follower Dungeons are new to TWW… they will likely expand them to prior expansions over time, but their focus for the vast majority of dev resources is always going to be the current and next expansions, not older stuff.

Expecting that launch of a new feature (follower dungeons) would be retroactively applied to every single prior expansion is completely unrealistic (that’s likely a huge workload to train the AIs for every single one of those dungeons in existence).

I don’t get it. How is doing it solo at level 80 any different than doing it with followers? You’re playing by yourself either way.

Follower Dungeons are new; new systems often take some time to be rolled out more widely. See also Skyriding on all of our flying mounts for example.

I definitely would like them to be enabled for Dragonflight and Legion (since I missed a big chunk of those) and SL / BFA (for nostalgia) one day.

Agreed. Blizzard keeps bringing back old dungeons for TW and mythic+ seasons. If players had the option to run these older dungeons with followers, they could familiarize themselves with the mechanics in private, instead of feeling anxiety of trying to learn it with a group.

Follower dungeons have been great for players looking to learn how to heal and tank. It needs to be expanded to all dungeons, and maybe even raids(queen story mode)

with followers to be less boring, and feel less lonely. I don’t have friends, I don’t want them, but still, the followers fill the loneliness at least a little.

I have very little time to play, don’t have the time and patience to deal with people, I just wish duengeon finder could let us enter any dungeon solo, at least.

Ok cool you’re a troll poster.

Because, contrary to what you seem to believe, it’s not a switch that magically makes it possible to run all dungeons with followers. They need to be implemented for each dungeon separately. And they just haven’t done that yet, because it’s not a priority and most people don’t care.

Do…do you not know that you can enter dungeons manually as well by entering them through their entrance portals? Dungeon Finder isn’t the only way to access them.

Follower Dungeons are new. Although they will go forward in the new expansions (as will story-mode Raid), it will probably be some time before Blizzard make them for previous content.

I sometimes wonder if we have AI forum users, not even kidding.

Are follower dungeons not available when leveling through Dragonflight content? They were introduced partway through Dragonflight for all the normal-difficulty dungeons (so not Dawn of the Infinite, I believe) and were available for the rest of the expansion.

I think it would be great to see follower dungeons and story mode raids for previous expansions eventually, as part of making the leveling options have a more cohesive narrative. So many questlines are concluded in dungeons and raids, and Chromie Time dungeon queues are pretty sparsely populated, so it’s hard to run group content when leveling through an older expansion. It would be nice to, for example, fight Illidan in the Black Temple after leveling through Outland, or fight the Lich King after leveling through Northrend. It would be a lot of work, though, and personally I think it would be better to have NPCs relevant to each expansion act as the party rather than using the Exile’s Reach crew for the older content, which would add further work. However, it could greatly improve leveling experience, especially for newer players looking to see the story of older expansions.

Just… fly to them and enter?

And you can do raid finder using various NPCs for old raids as well.

New feature hasn’t had the time to be retrofit into older content.

Same reason why a lot of old reps aren’t warband wide yet.

Tbh I don’t know many who use solo dungeon feature yet. I’m in guild with many different types of players… and I’m probably doing more of them myself than more chill players that don’t enjoy grouping.

They just aren’t worth doing. Lol

If they counted towords the weekly then maybe.

I don’t disagree with any of this - I’m just saying it’ll probably take time. Yes, Follower Dungeons are a great solo play / story option for older expansions, especially dungeons that have special mechanics like the Oculus Drakes or the Sethraliss Healing Orbs or the Cathedral Aegis, where the NPCs can tell new players exactly what to do if the “Guide Me” option is turned on.

This would be blizzard throwing their hands up and giving up on fixing the problem with doing old dungeons.

I would much rather they fix the problem with these dungeons rather than give up like this but if they’re not going to fix the problem then this is a good idea.

Because the AI isn’t generic enough to just slap them into a dungeon and expect it to work.

The AI needs to be able to do boss mechanics, which means Blizzard has to make the AI reactive to every unique mechanic.

And while I’d like to see follower dungeons for all dungeons in the game, it’s not something that will happen over night, nor is it something they’re likely going to prioritize.
