There should be a voting poll on the log-in screen where the patch notes are.
Any changes that go against original client should be posted there for players to decide if they want it. For example, guards spawning, layers, merges, same faction bgs, higher honor rates, etc.
I think we can all agree with this

The problem with voting, 51% decide the fate of the Game BUT the 49% do NOT have to play/PAY, they can just move on. Remember, that many of the Classics/TBC players already LEFT in the past and then returned for Classic. Every change has the potential to alienate large swaths of the population, enough changes it will end up at a loss.

They’re well aware of Jagex and the osrs model. It’s the reason tbc classic/vanilla classic ect were released to begin with. Blizzard is too stubborn to do that.
We know. But then you cant blame Blizz and only blame the playerbase.
Any change is gonna do the same, but if a majority wants it, they still do it.
the majority doesnt always mean its smart, especially when it comes to the wow community. im sure having a voting system wont backfire in any way whatsoever.

As apposed to not having a voting system and having blizz do whatever they think is best?

I think classic purists would hate this, because they would realize how small a minority they actually are lol.

yes, because the wow playerbase is incredibly spiteful and most people dont care about the overall health of the game.

Please no.
Yes. As much as people dislike blizzard… I trust them far more than any sort of player poll.
In order for a game to be good, sometimes it does things that aren’t popular. You leave that up to random joe schmoe and you’re going to have a disaster.

The OSRS model has all the problems you would expect, 1 community became the dominant community and then they voted all their changes in and voted everyone else’s out - that’s why osrs has 703884 bosses and 274727 slayer creatures but pvp gets updated like once a decade.
No one likes the pvpers because the pve players are baited into the pvp area with pve content (such as bosses) then the pvpers show up and call them noobs and stomp them into the ground, then the pvper’s poll “should we improve pvp” gets an instant no

No offense, but this has always been the case. And also always used as a scare tactic and/or threat to both oppose/be for any number of changes.
And it wouldn’t be the end all be all, but would help with voiced being heard and in decision making.

Yeah don’t want to make them self aware or else they’ll quit faster
True story rip osrs PvP polls
Ok, So lets say Blizzard did put up a vote for the same BG test. Who do you think would have won that vote?
This.
The thought of giving this playerbase power over the game like that is quite concerning.
Especially forum-goers.

If it was in-game as the OP said it would overwhelmingly have been voted for. Wouldn’t surprise me if it would be 95%+.
Forum frequent posters think they represent the playerbase when in fact they are a small minority of a small minority. Actual players just want to play and have fun. This change let’s them.
With that said, letting players make those decisions is a recipe for disaster.

The “Vocal minority” argument has been used over and over again. Then when subs start to decline they blame “market forces” or “You think you do , but you don’t”. That’s what they said about SWG and WAR and about WoW post WRATH.
The “Vocal Minority” aren’t a minority when it comes to how they feel about something as compared to the rest of the player base. They are a minority because they SAY something about it, while most people just stop playing and move onto other things when it stops being fun. They don’t bother trying to articulate their displeasure with a product, they just stop using it because they have BETTER things to do than argue with Forum White Knights while trying to alert upper management of their bad decisions.
RETAIL™ exists because of “popular” changes that were allegedly demanded by the player base but are counted with the negative aspects of the game in hindsight.

There are a large number of people that think the Earth is flat. I don’t need the game being designed by vote ty.

I’ve interacted with enough players in this game to know for certain that the death of it would be giving them control over it.
