The monk lore is what is written on the description page that is designed for non-players?
I am not sure what “The monk lore is what is written on the description page that is designed for non-players?” is supposed to mean…
Did you make a statement or is that truly a question, but it is just phrased in a way that makes no sense?
Are you saying Blizzard official class lore that 100% describes the monk class in wow is just an opinion?
Or are you saying it only applies to non-players? Like do player monks all of a sudden get to use weapons (because if they did why are you here asking for weapons on monk)…
Or is this just more of you expressing your opinion that Blizzard should change monk into something that is completely the opposite of what the lore says?
Because currently everything in official wow lore says “Hand to Hand”, “Bare-Knuckle Brawlers”, “No Weapon Style”, “Masters of Weaponless Combat”, and “Use their Fists and Feet to do the talking”.
Nothing in there says monks should use weapons but pretty much everything says they don’t use weapons. In fact it literally says they DON’T use weapons.
Enjoy your opinion and I will enjoy my hand to hand monk. I hope your time in game is fun.
Change the lore, give me back Jab and the ability to use a staff as WW and smack my target Donatello style like I could in mop please.
Thanks.
Just seeing this lonnnng comment. I won’t bother reading it all but will gladly respond. Achievement accomplished making you waste your own time and efforts writing all that BS. Good one with the youtuber, whoever that might be. btw my e-peeen is bigger than yours!
Use fist weapons, you’re a martial artist that weaves their fists/feet.
Why would you use anything else when you’re constantly punching/kicking? xD
yes please , OPTIONS OPTIONS OPTIONS
ppl want to use fist : SURE
ppl want to use weapons: SURE
point me to the ingame lore event that caused all WWs to just decide to not use their 2 handed staff anymore.
Famously, the monk class in the MMORPG World of Warcraft was based on 21st century martial art chains (and nothing else). In fact, I think their original marketing material was “Explore new lands, find new adventures, and learn sport style martial arts as practiced in chains throughout half of Florida.”
So the entire story is not only relevant but conclusive to the issue of whether the monk class in an online video game should be shown to use weapons while fighting dragons. Asian/Latin (French is not considered white?) Florida Man has spoken!
(Also wannabe Steven Seagal is much funnier because it suggests that your goal is Seagal, who is a known fraud.)
Would they use weapons if they were facing dragons and monsters? How about armored orcs and demons? Y’all fighting elementals in the dojo with your fists? #brave
Just ask Samwise Didier… The guy who literally built wow monks.
And to answer the raciest part of your question, French is officially Latin, we speak a Latin language and have a Latin culture and yes we even get to check Latin when filling out paperwork. Here comes another fun part Italian is also a Latin culture… yup in fact it is the original Latin culture since it originated the Latin language.
And while I do love Florida Man, I would prefer you said Okinawan man has spoken.

And no they fought the Thunder King who was empowered by Titan gods without weapons. So no per the official lore they would not and do not use any weapons.
So the answer to whether modern day martial artists would use weapons if they were fighting dragons instead of participating in training and/or sport is… found in the lore of an MMORPG?
My point was mocking the idea of looking to what modern martial artists do in dojos. Thanks for bringing it back to the game, I guess.
And we all know Blizzard never retcons lore for any reason, so that decides it. Why all the gatekeeping about an option to let monks use weapons? Doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense to gatekeep something so trivial, but we all have our hobbies.
You’re in Florida, and Florida Man is a thing (and Okinawa Man is not). It’s a play on a popular meme.
Yes, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and Romanian are the modern languages stemming from Latin (which is what I took). Regardless of linguistics, I’ve literally never seen a French person refer to themselves as Latin (especially in the US), and I’ve often seen white. They’re both somewhat nebulous terms, which is why I asked. But I’ll tell my wife she’s now half Latin. She’ll get a kick out of it.
You don’t get to pick what I am called. You are not my deceased parents. And you definitely do not get to marginalize my Asian culture or my Latin culture and replace it with a meme.
I can understand why most former Canadian French people use the term white since their country was owned by England for a long time and as a result their culture is heavily influenced by English culture. But French people from France (especially Marseille France) are Latin and when you consider the 100’s of years of rivalry (and wars) between France and England, then France and Germany, you can understand why (well I can hope you pick up on as to why but so far you’ve proven to just be reciting what you’ve googled)
At this point I am just going to report you and place you on ignore. You do not get to derail a thread and then attack people’s race and then call them names because you find it funny.
You mean the guy who gave monks the “jab” ability that allowed the class to strike a target with an equipped staff via a unique animation?
WW monks literally used their staves in MoP.
This is the dumbest thing I’ve read in a long time, English does not equal “white”…
The French are as “white” as the English, German, Italian, Russian, and Spaniards.
didn’t we have this option back in legion in our class covenant? i remember it being a thing at some point.
That people are actually threatened by a requested OPTION to use weapons visually is just ridiculous.
Funny how you keep mentioning you’re “Asian /Latin” like we really give a damn… I mean who really cares man. You’re one cringe individual.
Okay, but maybe some of us love the gameplay of Monk but want to use weapons on atleast a few abilities. What would be wrong about giving some players a choice in the form of an optional glyph?
