I don’t think I’d characterize it as “demanding” to interact by having a global feature not auto-ignore people.

I sometimes use silly mog, but sometimes i want to see gear progression when im leveling, or maybe i wanna turn it off during main quest lines. What is the big deal??? toys already change appearance on the client side!!! everybody is losing there minds
Well, if you’re not respecting my aesthetic preferences I really doubt we’re going to get along. It makes sense that if you find someone’s transmog offensive enough, you’d probably be okay with using the /ignore function on that person.
OK, then don’t mog your gear while you’re going through the questline. Someone’s mog too silly to tolerate? /ignore them. It’s easy and smooth to implement.
Alternatively, the setting might apply a visible buff like ‘Seeing Things as they Really Are’ so everyone knows who the no-fun-allowed crew is.

Turning off all transmog is what im asking for, not only myself but for others when im doing the main quest line so i dont see silly goofy stuff when im doing a single player campaign\quest. Just on my client side like the other toys

Also, fine, but I want an indicator of who’s ignoring transmog so I can ignore them in response. Nothing obtrusive or disruptive, just a indicator on the buff bar or player icon like a wide eye or something else.
And you also don’t speak for everyone, so rather than make it auto-ignore people why not just leave it up to you to ignore people for whatever rationale you choose and everyone else can make their own choices as well.
Yea a buff icon just like how toys do it now. I played the whole of shadowlands and never saw somebody saying something in \s so i dont think you have anything to worry about
so you want to waste time and resources on something you can just ignore?

Honestly over the years theres such been such an abundance of everything i really hardly ever notice or care to notice what people have transmogged anymore. Sometimes there will be an awesome set ill check out on someone but really its kinda w/e.

Me turning off transmog client side would have the same effect as toys have now on client side not effects you at all. I can already change what your character looks like on my screen without a no transmog client side setting. Nothing changes except i dont have to see transmog.
Please argue the point, because its already something i can do in game with toys. Why do you care if some people wanna not use transmog i dont wanna talk to you in game about your transmog, i dont think i have ever talked to somebody about transmog in game.

People that are against turning off transmog are on some crazy control high that they want to micromanage the way others experience the game.
The crazy part is that they seem to be majority of retailers. No wonder most people who enjoyed good gameplay quit retail decade+ ago.
There has definitely been people in favor of the ops idea, we can’t just disregard threads as “trolling” because you don’t agree with the op.
Classifying something as trolling has lost all weight it might have once had.
The people I see on these forums using “trolling” seriously seem to be of a certain common mindset.
