I really donât mean this in a negative way at all because I get why the release of Vanilla would excite people whose love affair with WoW is tied to BC or WotLK.
Mine was Vanilla.
So my thoughts on this areâŚcan I please have Vanilla for a year before we start threatening to firebomb it with BC?
Honestly and truly, I do hope they give you guys who want expansion 2 and 3 a chance to go back like theyâre doing for people like me with Vanilla. I truly do.
I just hope they let me have my world back for at least a year before they destroy it again like they did the first time BC got dropped.
WotLK, iirc, is where the community aspect started taking a real downturn (LFG and sharding), maybe issues w/ pruning and homogenization too?
Hopefully #nochanges will not be applicable to WotLK (or Classic+ with its content), it would be disappointing for WotLK to be restored as-is (to journey back to the beginning only to return to our end).
Personally, as i see it, a few things should never be added to classic, flying, lfg, normalisation, horde shouldent get paladin, alliance shouldent get shaman, the big reset of items every expansion, keep classic at 60 ⌠those are a few things that made classic unique and for me IF classic is to be developed it should be within those classic virtues
Now that being said, if BC and WTL people want standalone servers like classic, thats oki, as long as it have nothing to do with classicâŚ
I have no problem with them adding TBC or wrath serverâs, If they force the classic server over to them though I would unsub. why do they have to come at the expense of the classic server why cant we have both? I personal dont want to play wrath or tbc I want classic. I dont want to hop back on the treed mill I just want to play classic.
Everyone else is just excited to finally get into Classic but this big brain is thinking 4-5 years in advance.
What a legend.
Ideally they would just let people transfer or copy their toon to a BC realm, while keeping the Classic realms intact.
Having fresh start realms if they release TBC will be a must for me.
They have to phase the TBC patch 2.3, itâs when TBC wasnât no longer a perfected Vanilla anymore
They need to add TBC and Wrath, but they need to leave the Classic servers alone. Kind of defeats the purpose if they move into TBC.
I can simulate TBC onward well enough with current Retail that Iâve got no interest in a re-release of those expansions.
What canât be simulated is the original Azeroth that Classic is going to be giving us. I understand that itâs exciting for folks to have a potential fresh start for the expansions they began the game with, but right now letâs focus on Classic and hope the dev team doesnât really screw the pooch if they do decide to go forward with later content.
A year? Make it 10 years. Give me a decade to play my favorite game during my favorite time period before they take it away forever again.
They only way is if everything is seperate.
No transfers to BC or Wrath just completely start from 1 new servers.
If they keep the original vanilla servers going, then adding Burning Crusade and Wrath would only alleviate the queue times, instead of the doom and gloom you fear. Win win for all. Burning Crusade and Wrath fans can go back, vanilla fans can go back with no or at least smaller queues.
One of the big problems with WoTLK was it was the height of wow popularity. And blizzard just couldnt handle it. They had to figure out a way to efficiently get people into the game, spread out, and doing content. Thats why sharding and dungeon finder came into being. They also had to homoginize classes more because of the way raiding worked with 10mans. They need more classes to have more utitility for small team encounters. Take out 10m raiding and lfg/sharding because there wont be 12 million concurrent subscribers and i think WOTLK would be top tier of the top tier
I would think the introduction of TBC and WotLK would be even more controversial than Classic itself because of how the QoL changes those expansions introduced have done immense long-term damage to the current game.
A consensus on what should or shouldnât be in those expansions could never possibly be agreed upon and probably the best course of action to take would be to make new servers for those expansions where you can copy your Classic toons over with no changes.
But this is all a long way away and talking about it now is pretty pointless.
disagree, blizzard said they want to hear about this.
Take it all the way to WoD and stop there.
If itâs going to be $15 a month thereâs absolutely no way. They can do whatever they want, but Iâm not going to be suckered into paying $500 for the next 4 years for games that are 15/10/5 years old
When they want to separate the subscriptions to something reasonable sure Iâll consider going through the expansions with them. But as it stands unless you are a retail player (which hopefully you can tell I absolutely am not) you are getting completely fisted, and if you canât see it youâre high.
On principles alone, affording it isnât the issue here
Vanilla and TBC for me. Wrath had cool things about it, but we canât lie and pretend that DKs were not OP during that expansion and that many donât want to ride that horse again.
Iâm fine with them releasing TBC in a couple years but keep it separate. Allow people to either make new characters on TBC servers or an opportunity to transfer a classic one over. Allow people who just love vanilla to stay there.
Seems very hypocritical to not want changes for your version of the game but to gatekeep and say only if theres changes on the other version.
