Legion Is The Best Expansion

From the beautiful arcane city of Suramar to the demon wastelands of Argus. The zones from top to bottom were amazing.

The last time where we had our own class fantasy, our own class halls, our own class weapons, and the last time we ever had lore dedicated for our class alone. The last time we actually felt like heroes, and we were making an impact.

The constant content updates back to back to back, Legion was FULL of content.

The last time we had a dark/grim storyline, Illidan killing Gul’dan by incinerating him with his demon form on top of the Suramar castle was goosebump worthy.

The most amazing raids such as Nighthold which is a lost hidden arcane city that has been hiding from demons for thousands of years. Has some of the most amazing bosses thematically.

The last time we had an entire set of mage tower appearances added to the game exclusively for our class/spec.

Everything about this expansion is chef’s kiss to me.

Famous quotes from Legion:
“I’ve sacrificed everything, what have you given?” -Demon Hunters/Illidan

“Who goes there?”-Suramar

“Remember, nothing is more important than the Legion’s destruction.”-Demon Hunters

“An illusion? What are you hiding?”- Suramar

“What is that you hold, Druid?”-Archdruid Glaidalis

“Your allies are too dependent on you. Let them starve.”-Aluneth (Arcane Artifact)

“Boring.”-Xal’atath (Shadow Artifact)

“Fall before your masters!”-Thal’kiel (Demonology Warlock)

It was “the Hailey’s comet” of the modern WoW era, for sure :+1:

Just a very highly polish™-ed expansion overall in hindsight, especially when compared to the expansions after it. Even the current expac (DF) still feels lacking compared to Legion

Legion was a pretty good expac. It had some no nos (pathfinder), but overall a pretty effin good expac

Definitely the last one I got really excited about, that’s for sure.

The only real “cons” I can think of are the zones were kinda small, and the early part was not very alt friendly (for example: having to regrind AP from scratch on each individual alt)… that’s a about it though

Everything else was good, especially the story/lore :ok_hand:… just sooooo rich (for lack of a better word) and had an extra “depth” to it with the Class Order halls being intertwined into the mix

And the story was further “enhanced” or “enriched” by featuring all the longtime popular characters such as Illidan (especially)

Well, “Broken Snore” was pretty disappointing, and it was the start of Borrowed Power, but I still feel the good outweighs the bad.

The Class Hall/Command Table system was, I feel, the best version we ever had. Not as overbearing as in WoD, not as anemic as BfA, just the right balance in the middle of useful without being annoying.

If they didn’t kill the artifacts then maybe if fdk didn’t get a half finished one then maybe
If we didn’t have to dual wield then maybe
All n all left a bad taste in my mouth something awful

Wrath was the best for me followed by mop then current expansion then wod

The beginning of Legion was awful. You were basically spec locked for a long time thanks to AP. But Legion did have class halls and great raids. Well we had tomb of soakagaras lol. I ADORED the last half of Legion. It was not without its faults.

Legion has become one of my all time favorites over the years and it is still where my alts spend most of their time

although, as far as zones and questing go, I prefer WOD - it is one of the few things WOD did really well - it was fantastic for the first few months then fell flat. Legion fell flat in the first few months with it legendaries but then really took off in the later patches.

Class Halls and Demon Hunters, yay!

Everything else led to the borrowed power messes of BFA and SL. Many Legion systems would be unpopular if released after SL.

Y’all liked having some of the worst alt friendliness and not even being able to change specs?

Silly akston. They mean the final patch of legion after everything was nerfed/fixed on the expansion that only had so much attention because the expansion prior got cut short.

So clearly to replicate this we will have to cut another expansion short

I can’t think of any reason I would disagree. I enjoyed each expansion for different reasons, but I don’t recall disliking anything in Legion, other than the fact that I missed the first half because after WoD I decided I wasn’t going to play again and didn’t buy it for several months. Don’t remember what happened to change my mind.

compared to WoD, BFA and SL…Legion is spectacular.
compared to Mists and prior…Legion is ok.

Legion was pretty good overall. It had some stumbling points like artifact research being a bit too alt unfriendly but man i enjoyed logging in every day to do stuff. Easily within my top 3 favorite expansions.

I loved the class halls, the expansion story, artifact weapons, and legendary system. I couldn’t stand M+, world quests, Suramar, and allied races grinds.

Then you missed literally the worst part of Legion. The last half was so good it makes me look back fondly on Legion.

MoP was better.

runs out of thread quickly

Legion made “altaholics” the norm because it made playing alts so rewarding. Each class (and spec!) having unique storylines and areas and quests made playing alts better than ever. Legion was the best expansion for alts.

I’ll admit I put in quite a bit of time getting all the class mounts and I’m not a big fan of several of the classes.
