This. Gear should NOT matter in competitive pvp. Let it be a thing in non rated.
Of course, i’ve been playing this game for a while so i know it won’t happen. I’ll still be as vocal as the shills who like the idea gear should matter in PvP.
Ah yes, the false dichotomy between one extreme and another extreme. Fallacies have never been convincing and they aren’t going to convince here either.
I think you may be looking for an experience more appropriate for a MOBA or FPS. Classic WoW is a more old-school and traditional MMORPG.
Gear matters here – that’s one of the focal points of the mode.
Sub. Hemo spec not backstab build. 1 of the rogues in the tournament played 1h hemo and I also do on my rogue its good in comps like RLS. More combo points because less energy than backstab, 1h hemo similar dmg to backstab, more combos mean easier to keep recup+slice up, bigger eviscerates, you free up backstab talents and can take the recup talent that increases its healing + gives you a 6% dmg reduction while its active.
honestly they shouldn’t remove them, but at the end of season 10 and 11 I won’t be pvping, I’m not going to subject myself to people who treat this game like a full time job
Gear based game. The reason why people play WoW is to get Powerful gear and own up PvP. If gear doesn’t matter no reason to play the game and it’s not an RPG anymore.
Balancing the fun right out of the game gets us nowhere and leaves us with a game that is boring and not worth playing. Take Legion Templates for example. Everyone hated Templates because it removed the RPG aspects of the game. The Devs said they were a mistake and they were removed.
The most important thing in this game is the RPG aspects, power from gear and Class fantasy. This leads to the most fun and why people are PvPing.
Most PvPers rather they remove Arena then try to balance for it by removing RPG aspects/gear. The only big mistake they made with PvP in WoW was trying Esports.
Shadowstep+sap (or cheapshot) arena 1 or 2 macro while looking for them will get your opener fast as possible
I didnt use those macros until classic tbc when vs perception rogues lol as undead had to pop goggles + pre vanish for stealth levels then spam arena 1+2 ss cheapshot if i wanted any hope of an opener vs humans.
People miss the point here. It’s fine to have gear progression in pvp while disallowing overpowered weapons from another game mode to ruin it. There is nothing anti rpg about that
Lmao yeah vanish increased your stealth level by 60 the same amount that perception grants detection. As well the blue quality goggles with an on use stealth detection gives 60 detection same as perception.
You also needed boots that increases stealth level by 1, forget the name
Then JC panther increased by another 1 stealth level
And the cloak enchant for another 1 stealth level lol
The stealth game of tbc was like 90% of rogue gameplay haha opener was everything.
Your vision is actually a cone in front of you, so its a bunch of spinning around with sprint in pre vanish + on use goggles, spamming arena 1 / 2 shadowstep cheapshot lmao its some sperg Adderall snorting gameplay.
If a human uses pre vanish + perception + on use goggles you had no chance of an opener, but most didnt run goggles cuz they had perception.
Im glad im not playing tbc anymore haha was duelist horde rogue
