Regardless of what math is currently correct it seems that most are in agreement that it will take around 2 months in 25 and 4 in 10.
This is far too long for a weapon that half of a standard 25m will be wanting.
Considering shadow mourn was increased it drop rates I think that it is reasonable to ask this also be increased considering the amount of people who want this and the limited time we will have to prioritize firelands.
I guess that means we have only 2 more months until PvP is completely borked.

Assuming that Firelands comes out on october 17th and hour of twilight launched on jan 16th 2025 and it stays the same (doubtful), this is how it would look
25 man heroic guilds would make 2x staff and almost a 3rd
normal mode only 25 man guilds would make 1 and be a decent way through their 2nd
10 heroic man guilds wouldn’t make any but they’d be very close
10 man normal guilds or guilds that don’t have very fast 10 man heroic progression would make zero and they wouldn’t be close to 1
I’m pretty sure they’ve already said that normal and heroic will give the same material drops.
I don’t think they’ve said anything regarding the staff, I might be wrong but I haven’t seen it.
They havent the only thing they said is they want it to be expedited. But nothing has been said about how they plan to do this.

remember that valanyr fragments werent changed until ulduar wasnt current content so they may not change it now since we still have another tier to do. i wouldnt compare it to smourne changes because ICC was the final tier of the xpac

the staff is on par with that quest line the length of the quest. The staff actually has more people who can use/want then Shadowmourne tho!!! most raids run with 8 caster dps and 4- 5 healers thats 12-13 people who can use and or want the staff where in Wrath you had maybe 5 or 6 people who could use the axe!!!
Its ridiculous. There are so many people that are going to want a staff and pretty much most of them won’t get to get one now, considering everyone that wanted a valanyr or shadowmourne got one I think thats pretty stupid. Also especially with these conditions healers shouldn’t even be considered obviously they literally just had a legendary in ulduar.
I mean they pretty much have to up it… the way so many people raid log and aim for the spreadsheet these days… if it takes forever tons of people will just quit because color number issues.
Regardless there will be 10x as many legendary staves as there are 372 Ashkandi swords.

I disagree. There was a time already where these were gate kept and people weren’t given them and that was back in original cataclysm. Everyone that wanted valanyr got valanyr everyone that wanted shadowmourne got shadowmourne. I got warglaives when they were current, I got thoridal when it was current and I got shadowmourne when it was current. And i’m going to get both the staff and daggers before mop.
They already handed out shadow mourn to everyone that wanted it and there are 2x as many caster dps as there are str users. On top of this we have soooo little time in firelands as current content.
The staff should not be allowed in RBGs or arenas
odds are varry high they will up the drop rate since they did it for the ax / mace
If you want Legendary’s then go farm them on retail!!!
It’s weird that you are such a gatekeeper. I wonder what your feelings are on the fact that probably 75% of the staffs that will be obtained will be purchased by people who bought gold to get them.
