The infamous Pat video was shot during a bug that gave warriors an extra talent point, which allowed them to have both Mortal Strike and Death Wish (I believe this was patched in under 24 hours). If you look at the skill icons on his bars, he has both MS and Death Wish.
heâs even taken off his gear and pvpâed naked lol probably missing a few cans in his six pack but dang son, heâs good
Yeah thatâs probably true. I can say for the very brief period I too was a geared Tauren Warrior that it is basically accurate. It took a whole guild behind me and the best consumables in the game, but yeah. Warrior PVP!
A guy that gets no love is Geforce, but he didnât put out videos at the time.
Iâm still a Laintime guy though, that bro could Warrior.
Dont forget Ming.
this isnt vanilla but its fun to watch
Totally agree with that. It has gotten way too commerical. Youtube is flooded with videos and those with best tumbnails are watched.
Still, Iâm sure there will be some exceptional players
Did I hear someone say, Leyroyyyy Jennnkkinnnnsss!
there it is
true, but fire spec was little to no real spec at the time.
Gforce was good no doubt, I guess wasnât really remembered as the others due to content.
Posting videos does not make a person legendary, it just means they are showing off. Plenty of people do the same stuff all the time but just donât care about others knowing about it.
So, no, I donât want to see any of these people back. I donât care one bit about what they do.
its not just a case of showing off, itâs also instructional. for example, theyâd show you what their gear set up was, their trinkets, engineering junk, quest items and so on. and then you could watch how those things were used in combat, such as tidal charm, skull of impending doom, and so on.
Drakedog was always a favorite but some real legends were Mute and Kishkuman from Roguecraft. Not necessarily crazy good PvPerâs, just some funny guys.
Angwe is the only player worthy of my respect.
How has no one mentioned the Enhancement Shaman with Sulfuras, the hand of ragnaros? Iâm speaking about Unbreakable of course.
enh shamans only waited on WF procs for those videos⊠didnât take much skill there and also, I went against him on my rogue a few times and won⊠I wasnât impressed.
I think there will be a much higher quality player emerge in todays twitch focused world, doing highlight reels just wont cut it.
What I liked best about vanilla though was that each server had its own âlegendary playersâ, it was all a localised thing with many big fish in separate ponds.
Would be great to see such players return, but I kind of doubt they might. If they have such a legacy, they only stand to lose it by returning and falling short. To come back now would have to be for the pure joy of the game no matter how it pans out.
Iâm always intrigued though, thereâs such love for great players of the past, notably those remembered due to the content and videos they produced. Meanwhile streamers of today, whether they are the social type, informative/entertaining type, or the skilled player type, seem to be so universally hated. Iâm not clear where the line really is when so much seems to be a difference in platformâbe it running a website, producing youtube videos, or running a stream.
If old players return, it wouldnât surprise me one bit to see them return as streamers and monetize a fanbase, especially since to pull off great things it may be (or be like) a full time job
