Do you guys think we are going to see some of the vanilla LEGENDARY players back? Who was your idol?
One of my idols back in the days was GEGON - Ovski, Gnome Mage. There are plenty of great players and great videos but during vanilla times this was the guy I really admired. And I soooooo much enjoyed watching World of ROGUECRAFT over and over again.
Pat was good, not going to say he wasn’t. The point of his infamous video was to show that a geared Warrior buffed to the 9s is a train looking for someone to wreck.
The temptation to be a Tauren Warrior again is strong, not going to lie.
Broken but not game breaking at the time due to so few having it. If you were lucky enough to have a guild on your sever that cleared Naxx and even more lucky enough to have a MoM drop on that server, it was almost a privilege to die to it.
Isn’t Vurtne in like dungeon/pvp blues and wrecking BWL/AQ gear in a lot of his vids? ( i mean he uses a TON of engi stuff but still ) Not to mention often out numbered 2/3 v1?
I’m sure there will be popular players, but legendary status is probably beyond reach at this point.
There’s an abundance of people making videos, and the popular video hosting platforms’ algorithms do not favor well produced machinama, but rather favor livestream clips and VODs produced en masse.
Add to that, vanilla has been done before, and people are far more knowledgeable and skilled these days. I think the things that amazed us before will be commonplace now, and truly outstanding gameplay will be hard to find.
Instead of well edited videos with music, I suspect there will be a saturated YouTube feed full of “Wowplayerx | SICK WSG KILLING SPREE! Unbelievable! - WoW Classic 60 Warrior PVP!” and a 36 minute recording of someone playing Warsong Gulch with a webcam overlaid atop their chat.
Instead of interesting fights or scenes, it will be them responding to a twitch chat we can’t see as they defend their flag carrier.
Please god, someone prove me wrong. I miss the days of WoW movies.
