It’s not a goldsink. Gold sinks are 1 million gold mounts that a vendor sells… that takes gold out of the economy. This is actually the opposite if people are buying tokens to craft a weapon.
I don’t mind being the little guy here… keep your axe and I’ll make 5x more than normal from selling my resonant crystals to big daddy push guilds.
So in economics, when something is recently released it costs more because there is less production of the materials to meet the demand of the new product. Essentially, every aspect of life, especially virtual economies, also follow the principals of supply, demand, competition, and equilibrium.
Once we are mid season or sooner you can expect the supply to have caught up to the new volume of demand because it will be lucrative to sell these goods. Once it is lucrative more people will contribute to the supply (competition) and an equilibrium, likely cheaper, price will be found.
TLDR; economics is a social science + competition benefits the consumer
At that point they should just put it in the store for a $1000. Why even bother putting it in the game?

Anyone too dumb to understand basic economic principals in a game with a world and server wide economy for materials won’t ever be able to comprehend the mechanics necessary to get the base of the legendary anyways.
However, all I was saying is the prices of the materials necessary to complete it will decrease to the benefit of everyone soon enough that it will not matter much.

Most of you miss the point the legendary should just be drop then boom it’s yours. The game would of been better off if ion wouldn’t of lied when he said no more legendaries.

Crafting mats are region wide not server wide now.

Imagine paying 1 million gold in mats for a weapon youll only use for 2 patches then gets replaced by a green weapon in WTT.
Pretty sure the 2 players who have gotten the drop are fine since they are in professional guilds.

Mounts, pets, toys, work orders, etc. Things that I can use for more then 1 patch.
