The rest of the classes don’t need leech as main survability mechanisms.
Shaman, click heals, warrior? Instant 30% secure hp. Paladin 8sec immune to everything… Rogue? Same self heal…
DH can only passive heal and with just 5% or 25%for 6sec meta(hopefully no one cc)
As I mentioned in the previews comments the amount of time that a DH have fight for getting 30%hp is around compare to any other class insta heal is absurd.
I’m not saying that you are wrong, but the random tertiary rolls on gear are not the way to do it is what I mean.
Ideally in PvP you are working with the actual metamorphosis demon form and the free eye beam reset for an additional 36 seconds of demon form with 30% leech, so you have more uptime than a mere 6 seconds out of 30 when it matters.
Also, about your sustained dps quote of, was it 2.4k? You are ignoring that we are inherently bursty with a large portion of our damage happening in short periods, usually after Eye beams in fact! I know I can sustain 7-10k dps during my Eye Beam burst combos, which is 12,600-18,000 healing per eye beam just off of the 6 seconds of leech which is FAR from nothing. Add in the borrowed power of Collective Anguish healing me for about 7-10k more? It’s significant is all I’m saying.
How you can do 10k with eye beam? Are you having 15 horde in front of you and aoe all with eye demon?
25% of 10k is well just 2500 heal. I wonder how your math is because I don’t see anyone with something to what you experience.

So first, Soul Rending is 5% leech baseline + another 25% in demon form, so a total of 30% leech, not 25%.
Second, I didn’t say I got a 10k Eye Beam by itself, I said 10k sustained dps for the burst window, where I dump everything in that 6 second window with my haste buffs. That’s pre setting an immolation aura 20 seconds before my burst window in preparation and sitting on the Unbound Chaos buff until its close to expiring, eye beam, dash, blade dance, dump all Chaos Strikes, second Imo Aura, dash again, blade dance. My Haste makes my immolation aura have a 24 sec cd when lets me get 2 Unbound Chaos dashes in that 6 second period.
Use weakauras to track trinket and enchant procs to watch for a perfect time to go and bingo. I can sit on my dashes for that because of my speed gems in my gear, my soulbinds, Soul Shape, and the mastery movespeed we get as havoc. 133% base movespeed works pretty well, go figure.
But yeah, 10k dps for 6 seconds is 60k damage, 30% leech on that is 18k hp healing.
I will check since look like on meta is 25% and 5% when not (i say will check since I am not in my computer)
So you:
Immolation aura, and get ubc buff.
Eyebeam, blade dance UNC once you get another cd of immolation aura. So 2 ubc in the 6sec window. Got it.
Most of the DH will use demonic and will use metablade dance and metachaos strike. And not other skills since they are not empowered by meta. They do I think 15 more damage. But I get your point is not really using it for meta is for taking advantage of the leech. Way to much science math vs… warrior, dk… etc Click one button I get 30% hp
What item level you have and how many enemies bare you hitting?
So we have a addon or aims to track peak damage? Since at 222 item level 28% versa. Can’t see that when I am doing pvp. Or in bgs in team fights I can get to see 10K in a ubc when a pack of horde in fighting in the flag. I need to sim myself.

Someone will say, doing 10k DMG per sec! Wow is a lot well when you hit a pack of enemies players is not odd to see, Oh means you should be healing 1000hpr… Well but when you have a pack of enemies hitting you as well for that amount Each:(

Why you want speed when you can have other better attributes like versa?
Correct for the rotation. If I am going for a no big CD burst window, I use the first Immolation Aura about 18 seconds before my all in eye beam combo.
I use demonic, I just didn’t specify that my blade dances and chaos strikes were the empowered versions because I didn’t think I needed to. I was talking purely as a sustain burst rotation, not an all out burst all in rotation where I would use Hunt and Meta.
I’m a 227 DH, all of my numbers listed are single target unless stated otherwise. You want Details and look for the Chart Viewer mode to see your dps in peaks.
As for the speed? All the vers in the world is meaningless if you cant hit your target and it costs me One gem slot for an extra 7% movespeed. Even with that speed gem losing me one vers gem I’m still at 32% vers, so I feel fine. If you look at a lot of the high end pvpers you will see that a lot of them use the speed gems as well.
Ohh on speed that make sense you cap versa and not you are paying taxes on that stat that give you the flexibility to pick other stat.
For the addon i use skada, and not details will check for that one
At 226 you are way above average player. 
That’s what is the balance that I mean. For a Dh to match other classes has to be several item levels above. I been in instances where doing arenas. Warriors, paladins 15 to 20 item levels below do more damage.
Hope Blizz will balance more instead adding new skills making everything way more imbalance.
I would take the speed even if I wasn’t vers softcapped though? Again, all the vers in the world doesn’t matter if you aren’t connecting, and all the enemy team’s stats in the world don’t matter if they can’t catch me when I run.
I mean, I always play against 226+ players at this point and I am always topping the damage done in arena matches so, it’s not exactly like I’m outgearing my opponents. That said, we do need higher gear levels than other classes do to really start doing really well, that is true.

It doesn’t need defensives when there’s 20k fel rushes after 30k hunts. What do you need to be carried once again by a class made for scroll wheel lickers? Idk what more you could want.
