Leaving Pug's mid dungeon as a tank

Yes because basic math dictates that there is a need for far fewer tanks than dps.

Are you seriously here to tell me that tanking is difficult? If you are, I have news for you. It’s not. You’re just a terrible player.

Crybaby tank posts are simply bad players coming to the forums wanting to tell a war story because they need affirmation.

You went into a dungeon that you weren’t level or gear appropriate for with dps players that were far beyond what’s needed for OHB.

You threw a hissy fit and left because you couldn’t tank it and then came here to make a post to make you feel better about an event that upset you. That’s fine, you can do that-but understand that up until the point that you left; you got carried.

Carried ? they wiped 3 times due to the same problem .
If thats carried then i guess dps are always carrying xD

Warrior suck @ holding (AoE) aggro in 5 mans, them’s the breaks (and the tradeoff for being the best raid boss tank in most situations). Its the groups job to use various forms of CC so that you can focus on 1-2 targets at a time.

I wasn’t there so I can’t tell you whose in the wrong, but I will say it’s SUPER annoying how easily gamers give up these days, whether it’s in BGs or Heroics. People will wipe once or not like one thing and just bail.

That said, if you’re being personally attacked then flipping the bird and walking out is something I’d do no problem, if I felt my group was being repeatedly unreasonable.

1600 dps players aren’t wiping because of them. They will kill mobs as soon as you pull them.

Thanks for the post, we needed one of these today. You’ll eventually learn to play.

Or you won’t.

I would just ignore him.

Obvious chip on his shoulder. No point trying to explain since he has already decided what your situation was without actually reading it(note how he ignores all details outside of the point he is trying to make).

For sure ,

Right. I’ve already addressed his points.

He was undergeared and under leveled.

He couldn’t do his job.

He had every opportunity to just take a pass on the group.

Went in and failed then left mid dungeon.

Came and made a post hoping people like you would defend his virtue.

By all means, ignore me. The reason he is here is to be made to feel better for being bad.

Sounds like you might have been taking it a little too seriously. I can’t imagine decently geared 70s expecting a 66 to hold threat. They were probably just having fun with it. Were they making jokes about you not holding threat or were they raging about you not being able to do your job?

I will usually stick it out and let people die continuously. I actually find it funny. Then I wait for someone to say something like, no heals??? Or tank why can’t you hold threat? Then just literally spell it out for them. You passed the tank on threat, you gotta manage your own threat or you will pull aggro and probably die, if you don’t want that to happen stay below the tank on threat, that is how the game works. Once they inevitably do it again type the exact same thing. It’s even better being a druid healer, cause I can’t rez them. After a few walk backs they might learn a lesson or they might not. Not your problem either way. If they want to leave okay, if they want to kick you okay. Honestly tho, I don’t run into this problem often. Most people, on my server at least, will apologize for pulling threat.

Honestly just run 4x warriors with a resto shaman. Won’t matter if anyone pulls threat cause mostly plate armor + get more rage for being hit = more Sweeping Strikes Cleaves / WWs, more damage, clear faster, Shaman can rez occasionally.

You confuse me man. The guy asked a question, I stated there is a dungeon comp that does this and at least on my server is very common in normal dungeons and that it could have been this type of group… I stated if it was a caster cleave comp, its not really the tanks job to do much other than taunt…

You commented saying he has a spell book with taunt in it. Yes he does… I know… I already said hes supposed to taunt.

As for AOE with a warrior wank, yea, if you seed normal mobs multiple packs and the warrior hold one of 6-7 mobs possibly less, than the warlock who used my example stating they deserve to be laying on the floor will be on the floor.

Im not understanding. The guy asked a question, I gave a scenario as to what kind of groups may not necessarily need a tank to pull large packs and be expected to hold aggro (They are very popular for farming rep in dungeons) and a lock comments saying he deserves to die on the floor if he pulls aggro in this type of comp (which hes supposed to) and a mage is saying open OP’s spell book and cast taunt like he didn’t know that, I didn’t already say that, and act like it doesnt have a cool down.

Both of you casters prolly are dead on the floor each run and are the ones who blame tanks for wipes. Its a guarantee and you deserve to be dead on the floor each run.

Nah if they were constantly trashing on you and making the run harder than it needs to be you are right to leave. Its a game you should be having fun not being someone else’s punching bag.

Shambouki sounds like the guy opening with Chain Lightning then blaming the tank for a wipe.

I hit 70 on this toon just over a week ago and have been grinding rep. I’ve found that if I say something before the first pull, “Please let me gather everything before dpsing or sending pets.”, it seems to curb most of it. There have been a few occasions where I’ve had to repeat it and only one time that I actually left the group.

We are not talking about double packs here. 1 pack seeding it. Tank taunts one dps can handle the 2-3 others.

Peoples need to dispel the tank of all responsibility in the group needs to end. You wanna know why tanks are short? Its because they require a lot of responsibility to play. You cant just do nothing and expect the dps to fall around your every move.

Hate being that guy, but look at Shambouki’s parses too. It’s always some extremely mid-tier guy who feels the need to try and flex.

Shambouki, you have no room to call others bad. You represent everything wrong in modern gaming. Log off the internet.

Thats a bunch of BS. They don’t require that much responsibility and thats not the reason there is a tank shortage. Its people like you who expect nothing but pally tanks when the guy was asking a simple question. It doesn’t matter the pack there are a lot of factors to it.

I literally commented becuase of their experiences with tanking posted from a warrior that if you group with spell cleaves, some comps are designed to pretty much ignore the tank outside of boss fights as spell casters have been insainly OP and can pull 1,2,5 packs at a time sometimes and just aoe them down.

It was a general statement to the kind of groups that exist and if they find themselves in one, theres not much they can do except… use the taunt button everyone and their mom already knows he has.

I made a comment to the OP, a warlock commented that if you seed with a warrior tank and pull threat you deserve to die which you do and I agreed with.

Theres a shortage of tanks becuase people blatantly turn down warriors and some bears because they want easy runs with no marks or CC. I play a tank. Its not really all that fun and engaging.

You wanna know the real reason theres a shortage? The classes aren’t fun and engaging in any iteration of WoW, require SLIGHTLY more awareness, and people who don’t even read logs to see what killed them will instantly usually blame the tank making it a toxic environment which is why people don’t choose to play them often. (if you want to call it responsibility thats fine but team game, have to work together, not the tanks fault for people not paying attention to threat).

Tank shortage is pretty much caused by people like you who state “open your spell book and find the ability called taunt”.

You literally are a moron.

He said they were friends of the guild mate.

So you either didn’t read what he posted or you prefer your own embellished narrative.
His level was on par for the dungeon.
@OP, there is absolutely no reason to put up with people being jerks. Good job!

Yes that’s what causes a shortage lmao. By your logic there should be a dps shortage because you say the same thing to dps “Bruh just look at your threat meter”.

Im sorry but tanks require more skill than dps and that’s why there is a shortage. It takes more responsibility to play them.
