Oh good idea if they up the drop rate, they should add random colors. Then you’d have more than one mount to go for.
Reaching level 35 shouldn’t be an issue for any player.
Because usually World Boss has mechanics like Oondasta but nobody does this mechanics, if the content is created via LFG like right now but with better mechanics, player will coordinate, it doesn’t need hero-mythic mechanics but at least revive the use of the potions and not just brute force the boss like now.
Comparing one design to another doesn’t mean that i don’t know how it works.
(Check my mounts if you want to know https ://simplearmory.com/#/us/ragnaros/N%C3%A4amah/collectable/mounts)
I never said it should be for max geared players, it should be a little good challenge for any 35+ player with their current leveling gear, as i mentioned before i did FF14 little solo challenge with the current gear on a free trial, you’re just assuming the worst scenario possible, also if the fight becomes a challenge but the drop rate its better, players won’t exploit it as before, those kind of exploit happened because players want to beat the odds, if they remove the idea of odds for a more deterministic reward, you won’t need any kind of exploit.
Also i used 35+ because at that level you’ve more skill, so it can be a good moment to teach some mechanics to players, like adding a silence to the boss fight, if you don’t silecen it, it’s a moderate dmg or something new but it doesn’t mean its a wipe like any high end content.
Drops should be designed from the idea that a player only uses 1 character to X amount of characters, right now the design for 1 character is 15 attempts per year for a mount with a ratio 1/3333, which means that a player only using a main needs 222 years to reach 3333 attemtps, they can even do it a 100% reward after that challenge and mix with a few new questlines.
So basically what I hear is that you have it and want it to still be vastly unlimited so you can brag about having yours
You’re right the game needs all of those but designed from the perspective that a player only uses 1 character to X amount of characters, Love Rocket its just one side of the RNG bar and the other is 100% drop like the anniversary mount from last year.
What collectors like myself asked was a good scenario on which the mount has a drop that doesn’t required several amount of alts just to try beat the odds.
That’s why i think they didn’t created new mounts with that kind of drops, you don’t see new world bosses with drops like MoP WB, they still do some 0.8-1% drops but with a daily lockout all year available, there’s also an attempts per year / drop chance ratio to take on consideration.
It wouldn’t be so bad if there wasn’t a lock out in an already timed event. Just let people keep farming it without the daily lockout until it’s over.
Have the mount. Have had it for years (got it in WoD sometime with an army, at the time, of 36 toons).
Support and have for years buffing the drop rate and making it purchasable with holiday currency. NOTHING in this game “deserves” to be locked behind pure lotto RNG or left in the hands solely of the tryhard elitists and the wannabes. I’m 100% fine with stuff being rare and the worthless special snowflake types getting their epeen bragging rights when the content is current, but as soon as the content reaches legacy status, drop rates should be massively increased and probably even remove or minimize the lockout timers to daily or so. Special snowflakes had ~ 4 years or so of bragging rights at that point.
Of all the idiotic ideas i read today, this takes the cake.
If they would do that, they’d take the original off, forever.
You’re literally asking for a big fat RNG AF FOMO change to the rocket mount.
Maybe you should take a step back and re-evaluate the way your sense of logic works, wouldn’t take long cause it’s too little to work properly.
Devs could just remove the daily lock out, but there’s players with the mount complaining about that, when it was like the first iteration of the event and creates the best balance scenario for players with 1 character or X amount of characters and you could spam it all day if you want, instead of the current scenario.
It will remain the same rare like when it was introduced to the game for the first time and allow players to spam it, however it’ll become a good way to burn out yourself with a boring gameplay, that’s another problem in this game.
This would be ok as well. They could even do it this year if they wanted to.
Holiday mounts should not be the rarest mounts in the game OP.
They aren’t. The rarest and most exclusive mounts absent of time limited ones like tyraels charger, are the exclusive raid ones, or pvp ones. It’s in fact perfectly okay to have rare items that casual players can collect. Rare mounts should not be exclusive to the 1%.
It’s a 0.03 drop mount that is only up for a few weeks a year. That is unacceptable for what is supposed to be a fun event. It’s the exact opposite of a casual mount when you have to level up an army of alts just to chain run the event for the very slight chance to get it.
It’s a 0.03, a lot of people here always forget the other zero haha it’s even worse, I’ve done 450 attempts this last 9 days and i got the toy with 1.1% drop rate 3 times, imagine only a 1.1% drop rate 3/450 attempts… now imagine not 1%, no 0.5%…0.03 that additional zero it’s HUGE
As someone who does have the Big Love Rocket, albeit without the hardcore farming some have done to get it (maybe I did around 250 attempts over a few years?), I’ll throw my big bovine hat into the ring and support the change in how the mount gets rewarded.
I don’t think just allowing people to buy it in a single year’s efforts via the holiday currency is the way.
However, increasing the drop rate some or including some form of bad luck protection into the drop rate would be a welcome change for this mount and others.
I really feel sorry for those with 50 alts, running them every day for 15 days, year after year, with over a 1000 attempts without success. Frankly, that’s just absurd and definitely not fun. It’s about time Blizzard took a look at this situation and finally addressed it.
/moo
It is a rare and exclusive mount available to everyone. That’s what makes it casual. It is something the average player can have over the elite. And that’s perfectly okay, should be encouraged even. Which mounts would you prefer to be rare? It being a holiday mount has no bearing on what should or should not be rare.
And if you don’t find it fun, don’t do it.
The low drop rate for the X-45 is the only reason a lot of players are even bothering to participate in Love is in the Air. By now everyone has collected all the toys and the only thing left is that mount.
If the mount is easier to obtain, then it puts pressure on the the developers to add more content to encourage player participation in World Events, which is a win/win for the playerbase.
It’s available to the small percentage of people who were lucky enough have it drop.
No it isn’t.
Dungeon, raid, rares. Things that are up all year so players can farm them at their leisure. Anything that is up for only a few weeks out of a year needs to either have a high drop rate or be a guaranteed drop.
I’m not. Doing the same thing across 12 alts after waiting through queues and the occasional lock out has burned me out on it. I’d love to have the mount because its the perfect silly mount for my main. But it isn’t worth the stress and time management to farm it.
I swear, I am so tempted to start a thread later here on GD, and just tank queue people in who need it. Just to help 'em out a bit. >.<
Correct.
Yes it is.
I disagree. There’s literally nothing wrong with having holiday mounts be rare.
thats right, so make it easier to obtain.
