WoW is 16+ years old. There were many high profile games that tried to make WoW their b**ch as John Romero loves to say. They have all failed. Saying “something is better than WoW” is nothing special. It should be better. Every time I see these type of threads on GF, I just go “Ok. Do you want a cookie?”

Right… as of right now it’s still Vaporware.
And I don’t care who is manning the project… we’ve seen legendary companies jump into MMOs and well… Ever see the Poseidon Adventure?
Heck… Tabula Rasa was probably the biggest legendary flop I’ve seen.
I can’t recall one good thing about that game.

I tought it was heroes of storm. Many of my friends play Heroes over LoL od Dota 2.
But I can make them play wow only one of them does play

I can’t see the LoL MMO outright failing with GC at the helm unless someone at Riot thinks they know better than him and tries to control design

I dunno… we’ve seen some epic disasters over the past 15 years. EQ2, AC 2, TR, and I know there was another MMO that was hyped that didn’t even see the light of day… I just can’t recall the name atm.

I expect we’re all well aware that there are other popular games besides WoW out there. Many WoW fans enjoy other games too. That does not mean WoW should change into those other games.
Maybe you set your friends up for failure if you introduced WoW to them as a similar game to LoL. It’s not, and it’s not supposed to be.

Wouldn’t make sense because it is not an MMORPG. No MMORPG = no community/friends/guilds.
LoL isn’t killing WoW. The whole MMORPG culture is retro, and getting old and dying a slow death along with its mid 30’s to 60’s playerbase.

It’s clear that you and your “buddies”, if they actually exist, aren’t into MMOs. There is nothing wrong with that, but trying to change WOW into a MOBA is idiotic. Get back to us when RIOT makes an MMORPG that actually exists. LOL is not an MMORPG. Never has been, never will be.

It’s also free to play so of course its going to attract more people. But yeah I agree trying to shoehorn WoW into something it isn’t makes as much sense as spicy food right before bed.
