In TBC Classic is there a lead-in/intro quest that takes you to the Caverns of Time that you might naturally come upon while leveling in Outland, or are you expected to just make your way over to Tanaris of your own accord?
For more context: I’m leveling toward 70 at a comfortable pace, trying to do all the quests in each Outland zone, and I’m hitting up the dungeons as quests naturally lead me to them. I saw online that the Old Hillsbrad Foothills dungeon in the Caverns of Time is recommended for levels 66-68, so I’m trying to figure out if I’ll be led there by quests before I surpass the recommended level range.
No you won’t be lead there and thou the instance is recommended for 66 plus (requires 66 to enter) it’s aimed at 70 with many pre raid bis items comming from it. So don’t think that you reach a point that you out level it you never will but you will reach a point where no further drops are from there. What ever is posting 68 as the top level for recommended on old hill is the incorrect thing there as even at 70 everything remains yellow so you have not even close to left it’s level range.
In fact doing it at 68-70 is when it makes the most sense as can go with Kara attune and do it plus bm back to back to not waste time doing the long flight twice. You have to do old hills to attune to bm. Even instance grinding old hills is avoided as bm is more effective rep and exp wise. Old hills is done for prebis loot mainly so never out level.
Talk to the dragon outside the cavern he flys you to the bottom, you then need to do the RP quest then old hillsbrad quests inside, then the black moras quests (Kara key)
That be all of the CoT keepers of time, tho there is scales of sand; they’re the splinter group that’s faction for HS Raid.
