Le seraphim and who gets paid

I was having a discussion with someone about this colab. We couldn’t agree on who is paying who.

I was under the impression blizzard is paying hybe label to use le seraphim, but my friend thought the other way around.

Can anyone lend some insight on how these colabs work.

I don’t have the inside scoop or anything.
But I could see an upcoming KPOP group paying Activision to promote them. I couldn’t really see it the other way around.

Unless I’m mistaken and Le Seraphim is huge. But I’m not seeing them pop-up on generic searches such as most popular KPOP groups 2022/2023.

Wut?

They aren’t new and I’m not really a fan of them so I’m not sure how big they are. But their label is the same one that has BTS so I could see them having money to burn.

le sserafim is huge & hybe wouldnt pay activision for them to perform in blizzcon.

activision probably approached hybe because they are one of the biggest record labels now (even migos is under hybe) & all the major kpop groups that are big in the us are under hybe atm (blackpink is disbanded) + kpop is in the spotlight.

sserafims music suits overwatch style so they probably went with them & bts would be insanely expensive.

Virtual groups are bit weird, whoever owns the likeness of the band members owns the right to the songs, and the singers get commission but no royalties on the recording and live performances.

I blame LOL 2018 and their K/DA group.

What? I have no idea what this is about.

Did you notice a music video in the launcher by any chance?

okay, ty for the clarification.

It’s music related so I’ll pass.

kpop groups dont really work like that. idols get scouted at a young age some as young as 11 or 12 & the company loans them all the money required to train them etc.

once they debut the money goes back to paying back the loans & whatnot but hybe is very well known to pay their idols a lot compared to other companies.

sserafim & newjeans (two of hybes newest & biggest groups) became millionaires shortly after debut which is unheard of in this industry.

This isn’t kpop group using animation in one of their music video, this is virtual group own by corporation , completely different ball game.

oh i thought it was a live performance my bad

K/da’s live performance at Worlds 2018 was bank rolled by LOL and it owns the rights to everything K/Da related.

yeah but the difference in this scenario would be that it’s a collab with a well established group whereas k/da group was created for this sole purpose (korean girl is from another group & one of the americans is some youtuber)

You…you…you think k/da singers aren’t from well established groups?

i’m saying the members were handpicked from other sources to create a group called k/da.

the overwatch one wasnt, it’s a collaboration with an already established group.

Riot has gotten too powerful, they need to be stopped.

Riot sure knows how to attract players by the millions though. Blizzard can neither attract nor keep by the millions.
