Can you please allow transfers to locked realms for people who already have existing characters on that realm? That seems to be a better option than shutting down transfers all together.

No, your logic is dead, and if you do not understand, no amount of explaining is going to make you understand.
It is locked, you can not go, end of story.

They were available on most of them, for like a week.
It did not pan out.
It will probably be a bit before they try doing them again.
Sounds like anyone trying to explain their side to you is impossible with your mind set on being an arrogant jackhole so keep it up pal, these forums are here for people to express how they feel about the decisions made.

You are looking for exceptions, and exceptions are not fair.
Layering has already thoroughly pissed off almost everyone in my guild with trying to get world buffs for tonight. Any word on when its going to be removed or when Blizzard plans on offering free transfers off Fairbanks to address the population problem and the layering problems?

That pissed them off more than half the guild missing the raid because they could not log in at all?
Yeah I deleted my 1 character on herod bc I wanted to reroll my character but same name and now I canât get onto the server my brother and all my friends are on

You did this but world buffs and such donât crossover. This is a huge headache. Can you at least get somethings to drop on the realm as intended since layering shouldnât have to be a thing?

Horde Benediction. Are we going to be getting free sever transfers in the near future? The sever has been overrun by transfers due to not cutting off the number of those being able to come over earlier enough, destroying the community, auctions house etc. Currently having forced laying to solve issues is only a temp fix for a now over populated sever. I know many of us want out and now is the time.
You know what the saddest part of this whole thing is⌠my son joined world of Warcraft a week before they locked the server(NON OF WHICH WAS COMMUNICATED VIA EMAIL TO PLAYERS ACCOUNTS ONLY THROUGH THE FORUMS, WHICH I HAVE NO REASON TO CHECK). Unannounced to me I figured I would surprise him and join him on his server which I had a current lvl 60 on the opposite faction.
So I transferred off my lvl 60 on the realm to join him and went go create a character and its locked(ONCE AGAIN NO WARNING FROM BLIZZARD), I am 5 days into a new sub. I have zero desire to play this game without being able to play with my Son, I relived my late teens leveling to 60 back at launch. I reached out via ticket and they told me there is nothing they can do and have zero influence over in game.
Here is blizzard response:
"When a server is locked, you wonât be able to create characters unless you already have characters on that realm.
- If you delete all your characters, you wonât be able to create any new ones.
â That means, at the moment, it isnât possible to switch factions on a PvP realm.
This restriction is based on your individual WoW account, not your Battle.net account.
- If you have characters on a locked server on WoW1, and start a new WoW account, you wonât be able to create characters on that server on the new account.
If a server is locked, you -cannot- transfer any characters to that server - not even if you already have characters on the server. All transfers to it are blocked.
- Youâll receive a generic error if you try.
- Customer Service cannot bypass this restriction - again, not even if you already have characters on the server.
â If youâre trying to transfer to a locked server, youâll need to wait until the lock is lifted, or choose a different server.
I donât mind if your going to lock a realm to character transfers but to lock it to new character creation boggles my mind, Youâve already added layering.
I have supported this product for 15+ years. I wanted to simply enjoy the game with my family and new friends I would make along the way - I get told NO by blizzard customer support. Even tho I had an existing character on the realm but of a different faction.
This is pathetic and frankly really sad. I donât mind server ques but once you add layering block transfers and allow character creation.
I donât expect my son to start all over again on a different realm away from his friends just so we can play together.
I wish there was a solution other then âWe canâtâ.
Until then Blizzard I will be asking for a refund of my money.

A little late but I wanted to say Thank You for not implementing layering on Grobbulus. Weâve had a fairly consistent 30m~ 1h queue during prime time and as someone who works six days a week and still raids Iâm perfectly fine with that. As an avid PvPer and occasional RPer, I cannot stress how detrimental layering is to the health of the server community. We have whole guilds dedicated to world pvp events and having to work around layers in the early days made it incredibly difficult to organize raids and counter raids in any meaningful fashion. (Not that we didnât manage multi layer actions numerous times, but the logistics of those are horrendous and it kills the immersion, and skirmishes are near pointless when one side can layer hop out.)

Will the lockdowns be permanent? I created toons on multiple servers so i could play with friends and i didnât know who all would actually keep playing. I recently tried to transfer my main to my buddies server fairbanks which i already have a few characters on. Itâs blocked for now im still struggling to 60 due to my work schedule i havent made many friends on my server and played solo up to this point. I just started playing again but not being able to switch is really taking the wind out of my sails. Hopefully this is temporary. Or maybe dont lock x-fers for those with existing characters?
World is dead, world pvp is dead, my interest in this product is dead.
