Layering wont ruin classic?

And these are just from streamers…even during the stress test i was constantly being screwed over by this…Can we just simply not have layering its 2019 you can’t tell me blizz doesn’t have the tech to make a few extra servers need be…hell there are quite a few low/new player population servers on retail maybe combine a few of those smaller ones together than use a few of those servers for classic if need be…buuuut then again guess you guys are a little short on man power huh…

Spambots took the weekend off?

This video is new and exciting and original. I wonder why no one has posted this several dozen times in several dozen threads on this topic.

People’s logic: “if it can be abused: everyone but me will abuse it.”

Finally sat down and looked at these. Most of these are repeats from the first week or two when it was definitely broken, like Cdew and Defcamp.

And all of them would be fixed by no layer swaps without rested zones.

This has been explained ad nauseam in the multitude of other layering threads as to why throwing more servers at the problem is a problem itself.

I give up.

Come on, OP, fess up: which of the other layering threads did you also start on one of your alts?

Oh well now that it’s been posted before, we don’t need to talk about it anymore, the problem is solved and the game’s success is assured. It all makes sense now: complaints should be shoveled into containment threads.

The vast majority of the time these threads have nothing new to add to the conversation, and most don’t even really understand (or are willfully ignorant) about why this is even happening in the first place.

Yeah because we totally need a repeat of the exact same thread every 5 minutes so that no one even reads them anymore.

Yeah, actually, that’s the only way that Blizzard ever responds. They gauge importance by volume of outage.

No, layering won’t ruin classic.

Blizzdaddy takes notice of spamming for sure, but not in the way you are going to like.

True, they do have a history of locking subjects that they don’t want to hear about. They also have a history of destroying good things.

When pservers end up being more blizz-like than Blizzard’s own WoW: Classic servers…

Yet another thread.

On another note, I miss the hell out of TB. When I see that photo, I’m happy it’s going to be with us for a very long time, even if the user doesn’t know who he is. He’s become part of the gaming/online culture, and I make sure to LUL as often as needed.

Thankfully, it seems that steps have already been put in place to limit the abuse of intentional layer hopping.

There is a cooldown from various things and its showing that they are paying attention. This cooldown was added a week-ish after this video.

We have 2 months to go, and if they continue to tweak and adjust it, and use it just for the flood gates or lowbie zones (then remove it when its stable again), I think we’ll be alright with layering.

They are trying to prevent queue times, crashes, and server overcrowding. I think a polished Layering will do just that.

explain this rested zone thing because I was just in stress test a week ago and It was layering me mid fight in barrens

If they are working so hard to fix it so it can’t be exploited why would they remove after phase 1, if there is nothing wrong just leave it in all 6 phases.

One of the repeated suggestions is to require people to enter a Rested Zone in order to switch layers.

So you would never be automatically switched, and if you join a group, you would not jump to their layer until you return to an Inn or City. It prevents most of the exploits by making it a significant hassle, and since people can log on and off instantly in rested zones, it doesn’t affect the visual meta any more than it already is.
