Actually it means the population is spread out now.
This will make for an interesting experience.
Also I have to laugh at “competition” etc, good lord the spin here is entertaining. Classic is more populated than Vanilla, this isn’t even an exact Vanilla.
The elitism of wanting people gone to have a personal sandbox is even more humorous. This has to be one of the most toxic communities I’ve seen. Even more so with the false flagging of posts because “I don’t agree with what you said”.
As long as it’s just the people I don’t like who are on the other layer, I’m good with it.
Enjoy standing in line for mobs and waiting for respawn because somehow shared mob tagging is this terrible retail thing apparently.

but yea…#nochanges bro
So. That’s enough to abuse. People are still asking for layer invites. Only need 2 layers to abuse. Lol.
The dungeon bug that many profited from didn’t even need layers. Oh but that’s how it worked. Lol.
Layering was a necessary evil for the first few weeks of the servers. Without it, the early levelling zones would have been unplayable due to overcrowding.
However, it came with a cost. And that cost is an overabundance of mats - herbs, ores, skins, and white drops. As a result, the market has been flooded, and it has been impossible to get a decent price on the AH for many of these mats on my server. In many cases, people are listing their mats for not much more than the vendor price. It has been hopeless.
Removing layering is a necessary next step. Given time, increased scarcity of mats will start to drive the prices of mats up on the AH. Hopefully, in time, it will all crystalize into a stable and profitable economy for everyone.
I don’t think there is any evidence that the removal of layering will cause people to leave Classic en masse.
I agree but that is not what was portrayed to the general public by the anti layering lobby… they made it out to be some kind of crazy insane thing that hundreds were doing in hundreds of layers and the world literally was going to fall off its axis if layering was not taken out right then!
LOL:joy:
The majority who also pay to play wanted it to not even be in at the start.
What? No we didn’t.

I do agree that some tried blowing it out of proportion. However, I also never thought blizz would release it and just allow the mechanic to be abused.
I supported layering under the premise of the problem it was trying to address, it was temporary, and I never thought it would go live without some kind of restrictions to prevent what was seen as obvious and easily abused mechanics by gamers.
Blizz sure did fool me. What faith I did have in blizz’s competence is completely gone.
Gamers making games for gamers. Ha! Not even close.
Is that a Mage that I hear stealth-complaining that they can’t exploit layer-jumping for AoE farming anymore?

I have to be honest, I thought that list would be longer.
Yeah how about no, classic and vanilla are suppose to be one world. Layers were always a temporary solution to a temporary problem. Theres no good reason for them to stay.
It could be pages long if he was being exhaustive.
exactly
who says you have to do a quest?
especially one with a “line”
i dont even do the battle for hillsbrad anymore because of this; in fact, i abandon any quest that has a bunch of spergs bouncing around for named mobs or spawning items
Bro you’re level 25… Do YOU even play classic?
Layering is like a popular movie theater showing a super hyped and popular movie on 4 screens instead of 1.
People will realize after layering is completely gone, getting some OW stuff done on certain high pop servers gonna get crae crae.
they can keep layering permanent on my server
remove it and everyone will just dungeon spam because questing will be impossible
There is certainly more that I’m not remembering.
That depends entirely on your server. I was on Dark Iron back in vanilla and mob competition was basically non existant compared to Herod now. There were 4 Horde groups and 2 Alliance groups doing the Hinterlands elite quests last night. Took twice as long as it should have.
Not happening. Since the beginning blizzard has said layering will be gone BY phase 2. Get over it.
