Layering removal = diminished quality

Those people are called tourists. I’ll hold the door for them.

when did gaining experience for your character become “resources”? As for professions whats wrong with having prices a little low due to flood? I really don’t understand what is so bad about layering. It improves the gamers experience. It was also already in classic WoW before so you can’t tell people that it’s some QoL change exclusive to retail (I have no idea if it is or ever was in retail though)

Totally wrong. I don’t know why you’re quoting this instead of the actual blue post but here is the relevant part from less than a month ago:

All realms have a single-digit number of layers. Most of them have a low single-digit number.

Nowhere did Blizzard say anything about any server having only 2 layers. Servers with lower pops could have had only 2 layers, but they could also have had 3 or 4.

No way did servers with login queues have only 2 layers. Logically they would have had 8 or 9. Early vids show people layer hopping many times for the same resource.

Layering created real problems. Quoting someone making things up as they go along doesn’t change that.

So maybe just enough layers to where each layer has the same population as vanilla servers of old. Or dynamic spawn timers set to shorten respawn times of mobs/nodes/objects in some proportionate way to the number of players in a zone.

Or I can just do the thing where I camp the pile of wood for 30 minutes and kill the same bear 8 times.

I do hate the layering exploiters, and I mildly dislike meeting guildies at a town and everyone having to form a party to be able to see each other, but I also mildly dislike having to camp a pile of wood for 30 minutes to collect it 8 times for a quest while the sea of people rushes over the other piles of wood around me.

Because the semi-elitists that wanted to rush ahead and then put stuff in the AH for insane amounts and screw everyone else so they could get their epic mounts first and make a fortune… got played.

They thought they would corner the market but people even more lifeless than them figured out a way to screw the people wanting to do the screwing!!

The 1% screwed the next 1% and by doing so made everything affordable for the 98% behind them!

Pretty hilarious actually!

Weird. I’m on Azuresong and I’m not having any trouble.

I’ve seen funnier.

Obviously you have no idea how the economy was designed to work in Vanilla.

Really? because according to the blue post anyone can read it says:

"The last time a server in this region had more than three layers was the first week of September, and almost all realms reached two layers shortly after that. This includes high population realms such as Faerlina, which has had only two layers for three weeks now.

Along the way, some select realms reached their end-state of a single layer, and we locked that in. With a change we made earlier this week, the following WoW Classic realms are now permanently set to one layer:"

To highlight the utter lie you just tried to tell:

“Nowhere did Blizzard say anything about any server having only 2 layers.”

However in case you missed it I will re quote it below:

“and almost all realms reached TWO layers shortly after that. This includes high population realms such as Faerlina, which has had only two layers for three weeks now.”

Lie much?

Doesn’t matter because layering will be gone soon. And good riddance.

I’ll tell you where quality improved.

Today I mixed some Hazelnut coffee in with my normal French Vanilla coffee. Best idea I’ve had in weeks. My coffee is amazing.

this explains a lot. I jumped on one of my alt servers last night and it was slammed almost everywhere I went.

It was awesome!

** . . . and almost all** realms This includes high population realms such as Faerlina, which has had only two layers for three weeks now.

No way did high pop servers have only 2 layers when “the narrative” was as described:

There were many layering problems. And people were exploiting. And WPvP was adversely affected. The above quote is absolute BS. Might as well be quoting someone saying, “This is fantastic to have no login queues confirmed. The narrative from some people on the forums had them waiting hours and hours to log on.”

This thread began with someone complaining about layering being removed. Someone posted good riddance to layering and you trot out that idiotic quote as if layering was never a problem. It was a problem. And no way did high pop servers have only 2 layers.

No way did Jokerd layer hop his way to 60 in a few days on 2 layers. You can watch his vid. Nowhere did Blizzard say anything about any server only having 2 layers.

Except every single thing you just posted has been completely debunked by Blizz… but hey… the CIA are the ones the did 9/11 also right???

Assuming this thread isn’t trolling, layering has to be gone before phase 2 and the introduction of raid bosses to the world. One layer, one world boss to fight over. Er, i suppose it’s two world bosses to fight over but the point stands.

Your fishing skill has increased to 301

Obfuscate much? You claim layering was the next best thing to peach pie and when someone says “Good riddance,” you trot out an idiotic response to a blue. A response that insinuated real issues that had been raised were nothing but hysteria because layering is currently being removed.

I wanted to hit 60 before layering was removed but oh well. I knew this day was coming. Now i just have to fight a little harder to get my XP. It’s not the end of the world.

Nothing like attacking someone that just blew your entire lie out of the water…

I never said layering was great… my point is you people lied through your teeth about how people were layer hopping 400 different layers and ruining the economy and we find out the truth from blizz that there was not more than 3 layers and many realms much less than that during the time you guys were screaming about it…

LOL… the response was idiotic because it debunked your entire lie… and your “real issues” were debunked by blizz in the same post I am talking about!!

LOL… people like you make me laugh!

Layers are not being removed. Remember there was over 3 million people playing classic.

It killed retail remember?

You are dreaming if you think less than 3 million people are not playing classic. Its going to change the whole MMORPG scene.

Its the only immersive true MMO ever to grace the gaming scene. I even heard Fortnite is changing its design because classic was so successful.

Several years ago, Daybreak added a /pickzone command that allowed you to switch instances of a zone on their progression servers. It would pop up a list of instances for the zone you were in with the number of people in each.

The number of instances of the zone (their version of layers) would be determined by the number of people and would raise or lower depending on the entire zone (all instances) population. Instances would even close if the Prime zone and others before it started lacking people.

You had a cooldown on how often you could use the feature as well.

Here’s the catch. World bosses ONLY spawned in the Prime Instance. Bosses like Lord Nagafen, Lady Vox, Phinegal Autropos, Innoruuk, Cazic Thule, and Eye of Veeshan would never spawn outside the prime instance.

Blizzard ought to consider making the layers permanent and dynamic. While also allowing us to move freely between them within cooldown limits. But also make the world bosses only spawn in the main zone.
