100% true.
Also if you do a /who -z with the zone name it shows your layer only.

We wonât really have those answers until we get further down the road.
Generally if there is an exploit Blizzard doesnât discuss its nature so not to make the problem worse. In the past they have covered ot after they fix whatever it was.
They also generally handle any repercussions all at once and that sometimes takes a bit of time.
I really donât see why everyone thinks Blizzard proving an extreme example wrong invalidates all of the evidence about layering abuse gathered so far.
You are prolly right - Iâm just tired of the constant whining. Thereâs no need for 800000000 threads about it.
Iâd have to disagree until Blizzard implements at least a temporary fix, the current response is very much lacking.
Yeah and personally I think those players should have action taken against them, but it is by no means something that will single-handedly destroy a server economy.
they admitted thereâs an issue, theyâre talking about a timer, and other methods â they literally are saying they will fix the little bit of exploitation that is happening. iâm not sure what more you could ask for.
The larger servers will likely be fine, Netherwind and Anathema Iâm worried for though.
Still just talk though, and the issue is ongoing.
I find it interesting that my guild tabard I purchased around an hour after reaching level 25 shows up before it shows that my level has increased on the forums. Wonder how that works?
the forum champions did call for a response. i mean, things take time to implement - would you rather a kneejerk reaction and have server instability? or let the folks do their job? i dont know anything about programming - i will fully admit - but the advice is the same for any project any person may be working on.
As I suspected. The solution to this problem was fairly obvious: Blizzard will limit the frequency at which people can swap layers.
Your experience is very different from mine. Every time I go into Stormwind or Ironforge both are jammed backed with players. I generally see 40-50 just around the AH alone.
your forum avatar only updates if you change character to it again. (some say logging out does it too).
Dear God get over yourself.
He pointed out the problem and how it will be addressed, sorry the solution wasnât a massive ban-wave.
I donât really think thereâs anything to be worried about. Bigglesworth, a full population server, only just started to get a few 60s. Not sure if there even are any on Anethema. Additionally, those servers probably only have two or three layers. Certainly not enough to perpetually layer abuse on a scale that would cause any damage to the server economy.
It likely should be though. This was very obviously not an intended mechanic, and it was very obviously abused by a number of people. Absolutely should be bans handed out, or at least rollbacks.
Anathema and Netherwind do not have 60s yet, but layering can be exploited before reaching max level. Also, do keep in mind transfers will be allowed quite soon, from servers with several high level guilds.
It is awesome. I canât believe how pleased, even proud, I am of the Classic Team. True professionals who love Classic probably more than we do.
Given there are probably a few easily identifiable bad exploiters per realm (<100?), it should be easy for Blizzard to roll back their theft.
And thatâs what the exploiters did. It was theft.
As I recall, the limit was because of the spamming of Dire Maul for the chest with the QuelâSerrar book. Theyâd zone in, use Eyes of the Beast (or something) to see if the chest was there, and if not, theyâd exit and restart. Gorging the instance servers with empty instances waiting to time out.
