We don’t fully know at the moment. There is one person claiming that it feels pretty significant though. Sorry if that’s not helpful.
well if there is a cooldown, it should probably be 5 minutes
its long enough that people don’t layer-hop very often for resources(though they can still endlessly farm fishing nodes in STV until theres competition), and its short enough that the formation of actual groups is not impeded upon
Yeah, why not just add layer hop to our spell book, so we don’t have to get invited to a group for switch layers, it would be a bit more convenient
Layer hop - All classes - be magically ported to a parallel world - (instant cast, 5 minute cooldown)
Server merges have never happened in WoW, ever. That’s also just your opinion. I completely disagree. I don’t want merges, even hate the thought of transfers/migrations like they had in vanilla. They are just as bad as layering or worse for every aspect of gameplay. I don’t want layering but it is acceptable to me as presented to prevent dead realms.
I thought AH’s were server based not layer based. Thought the only thing that was layer specific would be standard chats, nodes, rares and such.
AH’s being layer specific is horrible and if thats part of layering count me out. Although from what I saw on the stress test AH is server based not layer.
AH is realm based in the beta, it doesn’t care about layer.
Zone chats are also realm based, so zone chat doesn’t care about layer either.
Things that do not care about layer:
- Auction Houses
- Zone Chats
- Trolls on layer threads
- Chuck Norris
I was under the assumption that zone chats did. Looks like I bought into some anti-layering hype… Oh no its started… Someone help. I feel a compulsion to make anti-layering thread #1129085798567103.
Zone chats are not layer specific so that players can naturally interact with each other over layers. Could be somebody asking for help with a quest or so on. The intention within layers is to preserve a sense of community even if the fact that they are phased can mess with that form of immersion. Its definitely not like game breaking loss of immersion. You are just simply aware of it is all.
It makes sense for them not to be layer specific. I just heard people say they were so much that I went against what would make sense.
I mean how do you foster community if you completely fracture it at start. Not to say that layering doesn’t fracture it a little, but with layer specific chats that is a different kind of fracture.
