If you have a police officer as a friend or family member, National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day on January 9 is the perfect time to show officers we understand how difficult their job is. So it’s important to show officers how much we understand their difficult work and appreciate their sacrifice and risk!

Well, to be fair, it doesn’t belong here. But I stopped caring about such things long ago. We’ve got breakfast food threads, health threads, movie threads, etc. This one isn’t much different.
Though I’m sure someone will think it’s trolling.
As a dispatcher, this is an important day for my boys in blue that I help keep in line/safe. So I salute all of them! The thin gold line has your back, thin blue line!

On a serious note, yes, I am glad that someone is taking time to openly express our appreciation for those who serve us. I live in Oregon, and from my perspective being a cop is a thankless job…I could never do it.

I already respected you before, now I am thankful you exist.
I appreciate those of them who do their job properly and don’t abuse their power. To those officers ofcause I will show appreciation.
Two things.
Imagine if law enforcement just stopped and people could do whatever they wanted.
Imagine if the WoW reporting system (which is fully automated) was simply turned off and all players were allowed to behave however they wanted.
Being a police officer is the hardest job out there. Enforcing the law is incredibly difficult, and every day is a bundle of conflicts that could potentially go wrong. They risk their bodies, minds, and lives so the rest of us can live safer. Hats off to police, they are the underappreciated heroes of our society.
I have always been supportive of police. Too many people act like they are the enemy.
I remember having a conversation with some jerk at an old job. He was a scummy dude. He was telling me we need to disband the police, and “the neighborhoods” would police themselves better. That in the old days, people handled stuff themselves.
Of course I said : “That is horse 
.”
I don’t want old ladies and young kids forced to “wear a flag” of the right gang just to go to the store for groceries. I told him in old times, innocent people were lynched without justice by mobs. I explained to him that he doesn’t want those days back. That the police are there because we can’t trust each other, and I would rather have cops than some thug without oversight.
It must be a rough time to be a cop.
The GOP tried being the law and order party… until they lost an election. Than they go beat on the Capitol Police. Alot of the Capitol Police said they voted GOP, and felt betrayed.
Sad way to learn that all that pro law enforcement bluster means nothing when their side loses.
People are a mixed bag they’re good and bad in every single occupation on Earth. Even Noble occupations like doctor firefighter police and Soldier have horrible people and good people.
The trick is to remember that and not be blind to the bad ones but appreciate the good ones
