Launcher will not update and repair tool doesn't work

The launcher and repair tool do not work. I keep getting this error message: : BLZBNTAGT00000BB8 When I go to the web page for support and try all options it still doesn’t work. Should I just uninstall the whole game and re-install it?

The error in question is a generic error, provided when the Blizzard app can’t really determine a specific reason for the issue at hand.

The easiest way to think of this error is the Blizzard app cannot complete a designated task and it has no idea why.

Reinstalling the game could possibly solve the issue but given the size I usually recommend that as a last resort.

First I suggest making sure the OS and all drivers for GPU, System, Network and Audio are up to date.

Then exiting/disabling any non essential apps/programs as software conflicts between programs on a system are typically one of the main causes of most issues involving the blizzard app and game client.

If none of that helps I’d suggest doing a manual removal of the Blizzard app itself and clean reinstall. As follows:

  1. Open file explorer/file manager (Right Click Windows Start)
  2. Navigate to the folder where the desktop application would normally be installed. Delete that folder if it exists (usually program files x86)
  3. Type the following into the address bar (not the search bar): %APPDATA% and press enter.
  4. Delete the Bnet and blizzard folders inside the appdata folder if they exist.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 with %PROGRAMDATA% %LOCALAPPDATA% and %TEMP%
  6. Empty the recycle bin.
  7. Now reinstall the app to the C: Drive.

If the issue persists beyond that. Uninstalling and reinstalling the game client as follows should do the trick though keep in mind, this is a substantial download which is why I typically suggest this last:

  1. Click Options (located above the news window for the game in question)
  2. Click Show in Explorer. (leave this window open while you perform step three.)
  3. Go back to Options and select Uninstall and go through the process to remove the core files and association to the desktop application.
  4. Check the opened file explorer window to see if the game folder was deleted when the game was uninstalled. If it was not, delete the folder manually.
  5. Go back to the Blizzard App and reinstall the game client through the Blizzard App.

I am having nonstop issues with the bnet app. It constantly either refreshes or takes me offline and then back online…and thus crashes any game I want to play within bnet
