Cannot run repair tool to fix Streaming Error or fix green texture errors

Right, so, I noticed the green error textures a while ago. Seems like they’re pretty random-- some in the Maw, some on random doodads, and one that actually makes part of the Jade Forest map unreadable and causes lag when I open the map.

So I tried to run the repair tool. No dice: BLZBNTAGT00000BB8. Whoops! Looks like something broke. Give it another shot.

I ran as administrator. I made sure my wifi was working properly. I made exceptions in my firewall. I have no proxies running. I reset my computer. I have all my drivers updated. Nothing. I run the tool, I get the error, WoW attempts to update, I log in and nothing has improved.

I decided maybe I could just deal with it, but now when I’m flying through Gorgrond on my goblin (Vinnix-Thrall) I got a Streaming error (WOW51900322) and was kicked off. Now I just immediately get one on any attempt to log on in this character.

I’m really trying to avoid a reinstall here, mostly because I’m scared I’ll get similar errors again and not be able to install the game at all lol.

edit: I have just tried the full manual Bnet reinstall outlined in this post and still get the same error :frowning:

I’m having basically the same problem; I used the Admiral’s Compass item to teleport this character to my Garrison Shipyard, which disconnected me with the same Streaming Error that you had (which is something I’ve never seen before).

I also can’t use the repair tool. I’m not getting an error message for that, it just never progresses beyond 10%. EDIT: Waiting long enough did cause that error message to pop up.

Howdy!

The main issue here is that if you are dealing with a streaming error which is connection related just like WOW51900322 is. So if you troubleshoot by trying to run the scan and repair tool, when the connection is unstable, it may fail because the data is corrupted on download.

It is best to instead troubleshoot the connection as the scan and repair tool won’t fix connection issues but likely make them worse requiring an uninstall, troubleshooting of the connection then reinstall.

The process from here would be fixing the corrupted data by uninstalling the game following the steps Here. (Don’t reinstall yet.)

Then troubleshoot the connection itself:

  • Shut down the PC. Power Cycle the home network’s modem and router to refresh the connection to all devices on the network and to the Internet Service Provider. Steps on how to do this can be found Here.

  • If you are using Wi-Fi try temporarily switching to a wired connection. If this works the ISP can help troubleshoot an unstable Wi-Fi connection.

  • You may also wish to consult your Internet Service Provider about being frequently disconnected from online games they can help troubleshoot the connection.

Then reinstall the game. If errors continue on reinstall it’s likely the connection issue is still occurring. You can run a 10 minute WinMTR: to host IP: us.patch.battle.net get the results to our support team along with your system files to help you out Here.

Thank you.

Why would a connection issue only affect one character? All my other characters that are staying outside of Draenor are perfectly fine.

I’m already using a wired connection, and am not being frequently disconnected from other online games.

Same aside from the wired connection Quard. But I don’t know what else to do at this point, so I powercycled and am reinstalling. 6 hours left…
