Hi everyone,
I am writing this thread to get some technical support or guidance on how I am supposed to troubleshoot a severe, chaotic cross-realm routing issue that is completely bricking my high-level Mythic+ keys (+10 and +11).
I play on Frostmourne (Oceanic) from Indonesia, my game settings have always been kept stable—all network boxes like “Optimize Network for Speed,” “Enable IPv6,” and “Advanced Combat Logging” are completely unchecked.
The Problem: Normal Home Ping vs. Chaotic World Ping
Most of the time, my game feels completely normal and responsive. My Home Latency stays highly stable at around 240ms–245ms, which is the expected baseline distance time for my data to reach the Oceanic server database. However, during certain blocks of time—especially when joining cross-realm activities or playing with US players—my World Latency instantly explodes to 1500ms, 1700ms, and even over 3400ms
. When this hits, my chat stays perfectly responsive (since Home ping is fine), but my combat data completely freezes. I miss interrupts, fail mechanics not only that i unable to move, and my game client eventually desynchronizes or crashes entirely via Alt+F4 because the state is unrecoverable.
I ran traceroutes to find out exactly where the data pipeline is buckling, and the routing paths are completely broken:
- When Tracing US Pool (
24.xxx.62.xxx): My local routing through Jakarta is perfectly normal (hops 1 to 6 are under 20ms). But at Hop 7, it jumps to 200ms as it hits California (://attblizzard.com). From there, it hits massive packet loss at Blizzard’s internal routing nodes (as57xxx.net), completely timing out. - When Tracing Australia Pool (
103.x.115.xxx): Instead of routing directly south to Sydney, my ISP is sending data on a bizarre northern detour. Hop 7 hitspaix-dacom.boranetin Seoul, South Korea, and Hop 16 hitsicn-lgpy1near Incheon, South Korea. The packets get caught in a massive loop of packet loss over East Asia before they can ever cross back down to the Oceanic server blades. - I can’t use a VPN/GPN: I previously experienced an account suspension for around 4 month action while using gaming proxies like Exitlag or Gearup and other GPNs due to automated security systems flagging shared IPs or rapid route hopping. I am absolutely terrified of catching another false-positive ban, so using a VPN/GPN to force a cleaner path is out of the question for me.how am I supposed to troubleshoot or fix this? Is there any way to force the Retail client to respect regional data boundaries, or is there an ongoing investigation into the Southeast Asia/Oceanic backbones handling cross-realm sharding?
thanks for hearing all my rant regarding thats and have a good day y’all
