No, they won’t. I mean not as the majority. I have A LOT of PVP friends probably way more than you and I haven’t seen any of them care about the marks.
The mark grinders are already here and are exactly what I described from what I’ve seen. PVE centric (for gear), bad at PVP, a terrible “I don’t want to be here” attitude, and gearing mage boosted green geared alts. I will agree with you that there are exceptions to the rules that is that there will be a handful of people who actually like PVP mixed in with the majority I just described.
I flat out did see this on my alliance in BGs. The ones going for the marks who say they are anyway. “Finally I’m done, no more PVP until prepatch, yay” - actual comment.
The attitude is the horde side too though. A PVE centric guildy commenting about how great it was he is done with WSG marks on his green geared alt and he doesn’t have to go back until prepatch.
You have a point about the resilience gear. The majority will be doing the BGs for the exact reason I described though.
As I said I haven’t heard a single PVPer excited about grinding BGs for marks. Maybe they will do it but it won’t be fun because the attitudes in the BGs will be terrible with multiple people who don’t know how to play the BGs properly and don’t care to do so. If I am wrong and if I see you posting in an on-topic thread in the future I will say I was wrong. However, based on my experience with the mark grinders, it doesn’t look good at all.
There was actually a sweet spot where WSG and AB were pretty fun to play in even with pugs. Before the TBC announcement. People actually played properly and mostly didn’t just afk for gear etc. Sadly that time is over.
Anyway, this totally is off-topic from the point of this thread. I am happy to keep talking about it elsewhere.
I really enjoyed doing premades. I know a lot of people to premade with but people aren’t even full premading on my server now for honor grinding. Why would they get a team together to premade for marks that they can get in a day? Nobody I know has brought this up at all either. Although getting friends together to make the quick mark grind a little less painful would be ok.
I’d agree with that except I’ve met some of the people who are doing the rank grind now. Everybody has their reasons for why they didn’t rank before. That or they are ranking on a new character. I’ve ranked multiple times before, including in gen 1, and would like an answer. Not so much for myself (i should hit R13 on my hunter on May 11th, and that’s as far as I think it’s possible to go) but more for some of the people I know.
