Last minute Mage Tower removal is in bad taste

What does this mean!!! Whose ignore list!!! How would I even know that someone ignored me!!! lolol this is wild stuff

Not going to bother further with a troll like you.

Temporarily taken down. Not removed. Unfortunately, being a we are all affected it wasn’t inclusive.

Yea like, constantly disagreeing like an avalanche of people so much so that I gave up and just moved on so I didnt have to see the notifications.

Now I just mute threads though, like this one!

Didn’t have to try hard.

It doesn’t matter, it is a content that is designed for 1% of the server, I don’t care as if they never get it back again. I’m tired of seeing the same tryhards / elites / nolife with their videos and dumb guides talking about the damn tower because they do not nothing but playing all day… and thus they feel above the rest of all. :unamused:

At the end of the day it doesn’t really matter. It is coming back.

The short notice does suck though.

For example, I spent all my time making sure I did my M+20s for the portals, saving MT for the downtime.

In retrospect, the “smart” play would have been to do the MTs and save the 20’s for this month. However, I was expecting the FOMO seasonal rewards to be removed (as usual), not the content that was supposedly staying up full-time.

Now, I’ve effectively left myself with nothing to do (have the portals and MT isn’t available).

FOMO is FOMO. This is why you don’t keep restricting or taking stuff away.

Until Evokers, there really is no reason for me to login. A partial talent tree (can’t get the last 10 talents until new cap) and reclearing old content doesn’t sound particularly appealing.

And the pre-patch event is bad. Unless it gives out xp like candy, I will farm out the mogs and move on. Even the ilvl for them is pretty terrible.

Yo, I was really polite with you in my thread even though you didn’t really understand what was going on.
So I explained it to you like you’re 7- so you started devolving into accusing us of saying things nobody said.

I don’t know how much clearer this thread can get:
The point is, let us know a month ago, or two months ago, not current-time-minus 3 days to grab an achieve that only 6%(now 7%) of active characters have.
We do business and consume content on a monthly sub in this game.

Is there any clearer way to say respect paying customers?

If people like you and that trolling druid are waaahing about when it is coming back, then make your own threads to whine and moan about ice cream or whatever.

I don’t get this. Can Blizzard only be criticized for 1 mistake ?

Like can’t we criticize the timing of the announcement and the fact they set no clear return date ?

The honest truth is likely that either they have been trying to make mage tower play nicely in the sandbox with the new systems (for all we know there are game breaking bugs, not even balance) and made the call Friday they couldn’t have it ready for the final build or looking at mage tower was so far down someone’s priority list that they finally got to it and it was in a state Blizzard deemed unacceptable. This is not me excusing them putting themselves in this position and letting gamers know so late, just providing what is a plausible explanation.

Despite what people seem to like to believe, the devs and lower level managers working directly on games are generally very passionate about the game and want to do everything they can to make it enjoyable for the players. Most of the problems come down to higher levels of management setting too aggressive of targets leaving the dev team to make harsh prioritization calls in order to make those targets. Players take things so personally when these kinds of things happen yet in nearly every case, I’d guess the problem is a lot more benign than a legitimate attempt to screw the players. The team responsible for making sure MT was working well enough probably were focused on priorities deemed more important with very long hours (common in game development) and the deadline simply caught them.

Well, they are missing the point, probably intentionally because it’s a solid point: Respect us.
Instead it’s easier to troll with “stop crying, MT will come back…” when I didn’t touch on that at all in my OP and it really doesn’t matter to me, I know it will come back. Between now and when it does I will be seeing a new xpac.
I imagine their ignorance stems from MT not being a part of their in-game activities.

I’m really astounded people still defend Blizzard’s inability to communicate effectively in 2022.

you had me in the first half ngl

I’m not defending Blizzard for their inability to communicate effectively. They have severely dropped the ball, as they do in all expansions, on the communication front.

Just as a software developer for a big company myself, it sickens me to see a lot of the vitriolic comments based on incomplete information that gets hurled toward the development team. There is zero reason for an intentional decision to have been made to withhold communicating the closure of mage tower until right before pre-patch launched. Doing so was only going to have negative consequences. This leads me to believe the culprit was either them not making a deadline to whip MT into shape within the new systems, MT not having a high enough priority to be picked up before prepatch, or a mistake by whoever was responsible for the communication.

As a customer, the reason isn’t that important in terms of recourse. They messed up with the communication, and it’s inexcusable. As a customer, if you want to tell them it’s unacceptable, then cancel your sub until MT returns. Continually lambasting the dev team on the forums won’t help.

It seems entirely reasonable to simply disable it until they can adjust it relative to the new talents.

we 100% agree. Thank you for agreeing. Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and ring the bell for notifications.

naw man. And I’m sorry you took it personally as a worker that works somewhere.
My OP was about respect for the paying players in the capacity of better communication in this case, in which you agree.

I am rejecting your notion that I lower my voice when telling the people I am paying that they need to do better work, give me better communication on a 1 month sub.
And I have not been vitriolic, I have professional standards. We cast a blind eye allll the time and say “it’s a business first.” Well act like a business. Act professional. Cuz I think we can all see the passionate side of Blizz has nearly evaporated at this point.

We also don’t know why they did this; mum’s the word with blizz on most things(case in point), so everything you or I suggest is speculation.

Out of curiosity, why do you expect them to share their reasoning on anything? You have a subscription to a service they offer, not stock shares. Most of us have Netflix accounts. Don’t know anyone that thinks they deserve insight and communication from Netflix when they cancel a show.

I saw your previous comment earlier so it’s obvious you’re trying to stir the pot with this non sequitor questioning on your alt. Thanks for the bump tho :+1:t5:

Actually I’m asking a genuine question. As always, feel free to ignore me.

Exactly how is it non sequitur? You complain they dont communicate; i asked you why you think they should communicate more than they do. I also provided a different example to illustrate my point.

I guess as usual if you dont join in the echo, you’re “stirring the pot”. Discourse and conversation is now just blanketly referred to as trolling. Easier to dismiss points of view that make you uncomfortable i guess.
