Last Ditch Effort to Get a Picture at Blizzard HQ

I’m opening myself up to a lot of online bullying right now but I need to let my inner nerd shine bright because I know this isn’t a chance I’m going to get again any time soon.

Tomorrow, I will be flying out to East Vale, CA for training related to my work. I live in Virginia. Other than this training, I doubt I’ll ever make it out to CA, especially since it is so close to Blizzard HQ. When I saw this, excitement wouldn’t come close to encompassing all my emotions. If nothing else, I just wanted to finally be able to get a picture with the statue in front of HQ.

But then after emailing the tour link, I got the heartbreaking response…“Due to COVID”…Ok, I get it I can’t get inside but maybe just a picture with the statue, I go to Google Street View and I find out that it’s well within the gated-off territory. My heart sank so low. My wife could see it without me saying a word.

And thus, here I am. Essentially posting it what could be considered a “Missed Connections” post on Craigslist…Likely to never be responded to or even seen by the one it’s addressed to…But much like Llyod,

Lloyd: “What are my chances?”
Mary: “Not good.”
Lloyd: “You mean “not good” like… one out of a hundred?”
Mary: “I’d say… more like one out of a million.”
Lloyd: (slowly reacts) “So you’re telling me there’s a chance? … yeah!!”

I’ve loved Warcraft since I was in the 4th grade, I used to take the strategy guide that was included with the Warcraft II Tides of Darkness Battlechest with me to school just to read about the different units and the lore while on the bus to school and in my free time. I’d do my homework on the bus home so I could sprint home and get on the computer to continue my campaign.

When I finally started playing WoW I didn’t care about leveling up, I ghost-walked all over the map just to find all the locations I had campaigned through and read about.

Remember when Stan’s dad Randy just wanted to get a little bit of cancer so he could buy medicinal?? Man, I’d take just a little for a make-a-wish wish. This would be it.

Please, if there is a Blizzard employee that could somehow make this happen on Wednesday afternoon or evening before I have to hop on my flight back to Virginia…I wouldn’t be able to thank you enough. Again, I’d be fine with just getting a picture with the Orc out front. That would be enough for me to come back to Virginia one of the happiest people on this planet that day.

Peas And Carrots?

Unfortunately the only way I know is to email tours@blizzard.com but I do not know if these are open to requests anymore due to changes post merger.

Honestly i realy dont know what they can do.

Not really what you’re asking after, but maybe you can get a photo of yourself by the gate out front?

Mind you, Blizzard offices … look like any other generic offices from the outside, but they do have the Blizzard name mounted over the gate.

Yeah, that what I saw from the street view. It looks like the statue is in the center of the various buildings and both roads are gated out well before that. It was a guy punch when I saw that

Correct. To get to the statue you need to be on the security list for the day, provide ID to the gate guards, then be escorted. Basically.

You can get a picture of the big arch that says Blizzard at the gate if you wish. Otherwise, I don’t know of any way you are going to get on campus.

Having a sponsor and arranging a private tour takes a LONG time to set up, and you need connections to do it. The Public tours, which were always very limited, are not currently open.

Your best option to take pictures with Blizzard statues is at events where Blizzard has a presence. Sometimes they have the statues on the convention floor. Not the Orc, but others that are very cool.

I feel like this is related to another similar thread.

If you go behind the big area, you can take a picture in front of Blizzard Way

Sorry you won’t be able to get this photo. That sucks. I’d definitely send a message to the “tours” email someone posted. Maybe they will rethink their policy. Can’t hurt to ask. Even if it’s only “more like one in a million.”
