Landscape Difficulty mode in WoW

So, in Lord of the Rings Online, there is a Landscape Difficulty mode, which makes the open world harder. Enemies hit harder, you hit for less, and a few other things. WoW has 20 years worth of content to explore. This would be an amazing mode for people who want to re-experience the old world. Grizzly Hills, Duskwood, Felwood…all great zones with some decent quest lines.
Yeah, I know I can still do it now with leveling and at max. But it trivializes all the content. Leveling in Warmode has me steam rolling and out leveling the zones.
And yes, I know Classic is a thing. But classic doesn’t have the quality of life improvements WoW has gained over the years.

I love Lotros difficulty slider, it makes leveling so much more engaging. It was a good solution to leveling being too easy.

OP, prepared to be flamed by the same 12 GD forum police.

I’d kill for a more difficult overworld.

It’s why I’ve been on HC lately lol.

Not really interested in doing instanced content on HC because I don’t trust people, but leveling in the overworld alone is always a lot of fun.

We do have elite filled areas this expansion.

There is one in every expansion actually

Scaling world difficulty would be cool.

Until the wine parade dropped by because they can’t handle +10 world difficulty And demands it nerfed or some other dumb reason

That literally goes against being an RPG and character progression.

So does mplus and instanced dungeons buddy. But you don’t see them being changed.

Can’t you just run around in Veteran gear for hard mode?

Difficulty sliders for the open world would be something I could get behind.

Or maybe world tiers like The Division 2 had, where you can get increased rewards by increasing the difficulty.

Not entirely sure how it’d translate to WoW but it’d make leveling and open world more interesting.

M+ yes, instanced dungeons no. M+ should be capped at +10 and never go higher.

Hardmode is my unholy DK making it to level 70 with ilvl 300 DF gear

Explorer and Adventurer are the lowest grades. But I second this suggestion.

Id probably let it go up to high normal low hero in like 5 difficulties ? Would be nice having harder world quests and such

Used to be…

/sigh

Everything was fulfilling back then and you felt like you accomplished something. Nowadays, most players want that fast and easy leveling experience just to get to end game. Meh

I actually don’t think this is the case at all. I think a small portion of MMO players that want every MMO to be like Diablo are like this.

Blizzard just catered their game around this player type, that is why you see this “I hate leveling” sentiment so prominent in retail WoW.

It couldn’t be that wow has a sizable veteran playerbase that’s probably on average been playing well over a decade and have done the leveling 50 times over. That couldn’t possibly be a factor…

It makes more sense to just 1 shot everything mindlessly?

I mean you can play classic for hard leveling

Hasn’t been a thing since then tbh

Weird naming system , I would just called it hard mode instead of landscape difficulty , it sounds like they added hills ,mountains and chasms for us to navigate through
