Lag when opening map

Anyone else experiencing extreme lag when opening the map? I updated all my addons.

Even with updated addons, something could be amiss. Try with after a Full UI Reset and see if the issue continues.

If this is the same as what I just read in another thread, it is being looked into. Also there seems to be a DDOS attack going on affecting some servers as well. From Vrak in another thread. There is an issue related to one of the opening quests which is being worked on. We also have a DDOS impacting a few realms that is being looked into. I am not entirely sure if this is relevant or not, however when in Rome…part or all may be the cause of your issue. Just so you have the info.

I would agree. I would start with resetting your User Interface and it if continues with the default UI maybe submit a bug report so our QA team can take a look.

I am having the same issue, but have noticed that it is only Shadowlands maps within the world map that are causing the horrible frame skip in gameplay. When i exit out of the Shadowlands maps in the world map to Azeroth or anywhere else, it stops so it seems to be isolated only to shadowlands maps in the world map for me.

I’ve been having this issue as well. I’ve tried updating addons, deleting addons, and resetting UI, but the issue is still there.

It looks like we’ve been seeing a number of these reports. A hotfix went out that was intended to address it, and the reports have gone down indicating that it helped, but we’re also looking into any new reports to see what else might be happening.

Yesterday i had no problems at all, but today after the mini update, its freezing again when i open the map and droping fps when running with map opened.

You need to file a bug report. Customer Support doesn’t fix bugs.

Happening to me as well. Open the map causes stutter and any quest update in the center of the screen causes the same hitch. I removed addons and did a full UI reset and it is still happening. Attempting a reinstall now to see if that helps…

I too am having this exact problem, on a 100% fresh machine with a new install and ZERO addons.

The description of a freeze/FPS drop when opening the world map or quest log is spot on.
