I absolutely agree, I think its really stupid that moving my install to an SSD fixed this issue for me. It’s absolutely not ok for bliz to be writing this much stuff to the log file as often as they are.
As soon as they fix this, if they ever do, I’m absolutely moving this back to my HDD.
I wasn’t saying that I think blizz SHOULD require SSDs, just that it appears that it does, and they should probably say something about that or something.

Its been two weeks and still NOTHING done to help us, but oh yeah getting the next patch up and running…FIX THE CURRENT ISSUES FIRST! This has gone on for a long time and nothing done yet! Why should we play the next patch when Blizz cannot fix their current patch?

Yea. They seriously screwed something up and I really hope they are actually doing something about it. Not to mention this continued lack of communication…pretty poor form, if you ask me. My sub runs out in like 5 days…I highly doubt I’ll be renewing.
Also came back in the hopes of a fix. The lack of any form of communication, as well as a fix, are both disappointing. Thankfully, I’ve employed the workaround.
I do wish we’d get a simple: “We’re still working on it, we know this is happening, we’re doing our best, here’s the progress we’ve made.” But two weeks of this issue is absolute insanity.
Is there still no fix to this? Reinstalling doesn’t work. I don’t have a SSD, I only have one HDD. C’mon. I saw that someone said it’s a read/writing issue and a bat file to launch the game without using the battle.net launcher can fix it but we shouldn’t have to do that.
Same problems as everyone else. Still happening. Turn in a quest, 1-3 second lag. Kill a rare, 1-3 sec lag. Sometimes just walking around the game stops responding then eventually catches up (That may just be me, but never had that issue at all before.)
Can we get any sort of update on this?
At this point I’m just so used to the work around that it’ll probably feel weird not to mess with the logs when launching.

I get exactly this, so it’s not just you and I have an SSD a really fast M.2 … the game will just stop responding for a few seconds while I’m flying sometimes, never had this issue before until the latest patch

If you want responses you have to go to Twitter. Nobody will see you here, because only WoW players come here. EVERY one sees tweets, so they’ll respond to at least make it look like they are concerned.

Question for those of you who have not been using the workaround: I know killing a rare in Pandaria or newer content causes a hidden quest update for tracking, and I don’t believe content older than that does. Do you get the same pause when killing a rare older than MoP?
I need to check that.
I was just killing some rares (warfronts) and doing stuff around KT and Zandalar.
I stop playing because its very annoying and some ppl already report MAY be bad for some parts of your system.

Yes. I have been leveling a new character on a new (for me) server, from level 1. It is happening in all areas I’ve been too on both Kalimdor and the Eastern continent.
I have finally gone to using the workaround too. My fans were starting to ramp up a little, and I lost a hard drive 2 years ago. I would like to avoid extra wear and tear on this one. The workaround has also smoothed out loading screens for me, although Legion Dalaran is still a long load.

Not only does the error continue, but also the log says something about “bow down to our Chinese overlords” or something like that.
