This is making me not want to play. normally I wouldn’t really care because for me it is only on turn in (I’ve seen over on reddit people saying its when they open bags, banks, guild pages,ect,ect but when it does lock up for like a fraction of a second my hard drive makes a sound like its skipping like an old record player and its makes me wonder if ignoring it and brute forcing wow will cause worse damage.

It is truly hard to believe this bug was not handled ASAP, much less aloud to persist for over a week. I guess we will need more streamers to go on record saying this crap screwed up their harddrive. Maybe then we will get some haste dealing with this issue…

It’s a log file. Not necessarily for any part of the game to function. Why are you not just disabling it until you figure out your ****?

Blizzard would be basically signing its own death certificate if it started banning people for making a local file read only.
It’s likely not going to kill a fairly new healthy drive. but it can be the trigger if your drive is already close to failing, and it will shorten the lifespan of your drive through rapidly added stress.
Also having this issue in raid when a boss dies- this is really disheartening.
Reporting in just to say issue is still there.
Restarted as instructed, the hotfix didn’t seem to do anything.
Ok everyone I talked to a GM in game and the update from them is they identified the cause and are working on a fix

Confirmed the patch did nothing at all.
Since when Blizzard- Activision didn’t see us as walking wallet to be robbed?
How do you go about finding GM’s ingame? I’ve never seen them and I’ve been playing for a while. :0

Haha wasn’t this a problem in the alpha/beta of BFA where you had to do the workaround?
No idea if this is true or not. Is this history repeating itself?
So I have to do the permission and read only workaround and it now longer clears it for me but makes it much better where the other day it completely cleared it up for me dont know why

I have been watching wow streams and just about all of them have this issue. Some it is really bad, others it is noticeable but not that bad. A lot of people may be able to ignore this issue, but I cannot knowing full well what this kinda things does to my harddrive. Yes my harddrive is a few years old with a lot of gaming miles on it. So at this point I will not play retail at all. Classic all the way.
Blizz I truly do not understand why you have not fixed this yet. We know what the issue is, how to address the issue, and yet it is still here. Mind boggling truly. What is going on with you guys lately?

This is happening everywhere, not just in BFA zones. I just want it fixed man. I’ve done everything in the other blue post and still no fixing it. And warmode isn’t the issue since i’ve tried both ways
