Sounds like pug problems. Join or form a guild (don’t give me the set schedule line, if you can’t set raid days then just form a guild for fluid raid days gasp yes that’s a thing). We have pal and war main tanks, and run meta locks, bears, or rogue tanks for fun in Gnomer or switching it up if the tanks wanna dps.
raid tanks aren’t an issue… dungeon tanks for leveling alts is horrible
this is a true thing with being not alot of tanks around as well as heals, but do a guild run
But according to another post here about a healer shortage, they said there’s no tank shortage. But then again they want to nerf the DPS of any class that can heal in order to force them into healing roles… I suggested the same should be done to tanks using their logic to help with the tank shortage. But that’s when they told no because there’s no tank shortage. IDK it seems like there’s a shortage of both and they just want to play Classic with the same roles and specs as always and not SoD.

My main group we are using 2 paladin tank.
Our alt run we use a main warrior tank with a rogue off tank.
What’s your problem? We cleared Gnomeregan since week 1. Every class is viable for tanking. Your only job is staying alive. DPS doesnt matter.
If your guild is looking at tank dps logs, honestly, just find a new guild.

Lol? Lack of tanks? My groups have so many tanks originally I meant to main tanking but end up having to be a ranged dps on my warlock.
Retail has 6 tank specs and there’s still a tank shortage.
People just don’t want the pressure/responsibility of being the group leader. It’s not how good/bad tank specs are.

There aren’t enough tanks for pugs because people treat tanks and healz like dog dirt.
People have also figured out the number of tanks needed for raiding at max level is half of what was needed for leveling.

Every iteration of wow there’s no tank shortage during the early leveling process.
But there is always a tank shortage once they are geared. And truth is, tanks get geared the fastest, so tank shortages happen very early in patch cycles.
That’s funny… Been clearing gnomer since the first lockout and yet to get my first piece of gear… Needing BS and Engineering to have any hope of holding threat against our dps means I am also ghetto broke.

I just dropped 25g to restock my supply of consumes and we didn’t even wipe last run… I just want to be able to afford to buy the recipes for my shield and helm…
And you’re absolutely right, then reading the replies… “Just use a Shaman”, “Use a Warlock”…seriously…so, lets have a class that was solely designed to do one thing with a particular talent spec but chop the legs out from under it, so it’s as useful as a wet bag with 4lbs of groceries in it. Does the irony of the situation not give people pause at all? Clearly, no. Then again, a lot of these off the cuff remarks are from people picking the FOTM classes that have been absurdly buffed so its not surprising in the least
