The more I look at Kyrians, the less I like them.
Their signature ability is to summon a dude to give you a potion.
I already forget about Warlock Cookies all the time, so that’s about as useful as a screen-door on a battleship for me.
Offers a selection of useful amenities for a day? I already have the Argent Squire with a shorter cooldown than once per day.
Then we get to the actual combat ability… which is just… turning an instant-cast ability into an instant-cast AoE ability… which for me means what? Do I get 3 shields thrown out that each bounce to 3 targets? Or just extra bounces on my shield? If that’s a total of 9 bounces then that may be useful if I inherently get the Avenger’s Shield shielding based on damage dealt back from Legion. But it may not be all that useful with the AoE damage cap they’re putting in with Shadowlands.
Could be mildly useful for Holy.
Judgement is pretty meh. Ret doesn’t have enough resources between GCD’s to really take advantage of the tiny window that Judgement bonus damage gives.
VS: An AoE Concecrate that heals me and allies. (That’s actually useful.)
Or, Damage+Empowered Word of Glory that also triggers my primary defensive ability.
Or, a rotating party-wide buff that rotates between bonus holy damage, 10% CD reduction, enemy slow, and bonus healing every 15 seconds.
I mean… depending on how controllable the Nightfae ability is they’re seriously winning out on the utility and functionality aspect of choices here. And they don’t brainwash people.
I always knew Kyrian was the best choice <3 <3 <3
Yeah that sounds super fun for classes that already have invisibility/shadowmeld…
Necrolord ain’t far behind, love me some undeaders. But in the end I’m going to go with whatever covenant has the most fun ability for the class I’m playing, so i’ll probably end up playing all of them.
I will go definitely Kyrian on my holy pally alt, but for my main I chose necrolords. I think it goes well because of the liches and frost theme. They have the only cloth set I like for my mage.
Plus:
- I can turn myself into a “Lich” =D
- Fleshcraft seems good for Wpvp
The only reason I’m choosing the angel nerds is for irony.
Otherwise it’s deer girls for the win! (As if I won’t be playing in all 4 factions at some point)
One covenant had to be last. I does not matter which it is, I will play all four anyway.
I am tired of blue & purple skinned humanoids in WoW. That alone makes Kyrians not very appealing to me personally.
Because the Kyrian covenant is the most boring option. Every other covenant has an interesting angle.
Kyrian is just “Angel People”.
They are my second choice, after Night Fae. The people remind me of Devas and Planetars from Planescape D&D. I’ll probably join them on a few characters.
I feel the same about the Necrolords. They’re basically the undead army and their models look pretty much like standard undead. It’s like Undercity again. I’ll take angels over big fat zombie with exposed guts hanging out, carrying cleavers.
You can basically boil all the covenants down like that though.
I meant lore wise. Not just aesthetics. The other covenants are just more interesting than the Kyrian.
