Are you the one making the toons they are already having a hard time with? No. All you want is a skinny toon. If you don’t want us all responding the same thing to you, feel free to use the submit suggestion button in game.
Why? I think you’re dead wrong about the model appearance being the important aspect of an Allied Race.
Or explain to me why that’s more important than the lore, racials, heritage armor, mounts, and class selection.
No, I want more customization options and consistency between Player Characters and NPCs of the same race.
You still haven’t identified where the extra work is.
In the development of shaders and textures? That’s already done. In the rigging and animation? Already done also. In making sure the armor that fits on a Kul Tiran fits on a regular human? That’s also done.
Unless you’re saying the player should have to do more things to unlock the different body sizes, in which case, no, I don’t think that’s a fair argument at all and I don’t think anyone’s said that.
Kul Tirans should have the option to be big or thin. That’s it. So, can you clarify what you mean by extra work?
Congrats. That is literally how every single Allied Race works! Every Allied Race has its base model already done, and are based on something else already in game.
So now that we covered that, its easy to see how you are asking for 3x the work and 3x the models for Kul Tiras. It would be an amount of work unprecedented by any other AR by a looong shot.
Because models is what people care about. I would wager more people playing WoW care about how their character looks than the lore and back story.
I care about killing and progressing. Transmog when very bored. I play the toons enjoy, gnomes are eww… smell like cheese I avoid them. I don;t come to forums and say make gnomes taller and smell less like cheese please in a huge post that in the grander scheme of things, will never get acted upon.
I’m not saying that and the game’s not telling me that it’s true either.
The game is showing that Kul Tirans can be thin, though. I just think a player should have the option to be what is presented in game, especially when that visual is actually the most prevalent.
I agree that people care about character appearances.
I disagree that it’s all about models. I think customization is way more important.
And that customization of body size is necessary for Kul Tirans.
…I am not sure you follow.
To create an Allied Race it takes X amount of work. All Allied Races are based on a previous race already. So generally, X is the same. Creating normal or skinny Kul Tiras isn’t any less work than any other Allied Race out there. So you don’t get a free pass because “the model is already in game”.
Creating 3 models is 3x.
I don’t know how else to explain this. Every Allied Race had a minimal amount of work. That is why we get so many.
But you are. You are asking them to completely redesign something that has been in the works for years to suit your needs. Not even remotely thinking of the work that would entail.
Thin human models are already in the game. They’re already shaded, animated, rigged, and everything. Look at the vast majority of thin Kul Tiran NPCs and tell me where you think this work is that hasn’t already been done ages ago.
Average-sized Kul Tiran humans are already in the game in the form of most Kul Tiran NPCs. What makes you think it’s a ton more work than it is to change the appearance of the player character model?
That literally changes nothing.
Every single allied race, the model was already in game. Skinny/normal kul tiras don’t get a free pass in this.
They would still take more work than maghar orcs, for example. Or high mountain. Or lightforged space goats.
The entire point of ARs is that the model is already in game.
You still haven’t explained what that extra work is.
“making a new model playable”
Then play an average sized human. Simple solution. But you don’t want to, you want all the perks. Like I said, since everyone here pretty much disagrees with you submit a suggestion ticket and watch blizz ignore it too.
The model is already playable.
In the form of playable humans.
What model are you talking about that isn’t currently playable?
I main Horde and I’m not going to play a Kul Tiran.
But what if I wanted to play a Tidesage like Brother Pike? That’s a Kul Tiran Shaman. That class isn’t available to the thin humans that are already playable. Brother Pike is thin, why couldn’t I be?
But they’d have to change the human. You know. Like every single AR in existence. That is how ARs work. They take something playable. And they change it. That is work. Which means they’d have to do it 3 times. For stocky/normal/skinny. Meaning that is 3x the work for any other AR.
I mean i’d love to make the skinny/lanky looking male human model thats in the game. Make it a rogue.
I dont really see a point in making normal human looking kul’tirans though, just play a normal human.
If they don’t change it physically…whats the point? They aren’t going to release the same exact model with no physical changes as an Allied Race.
Then why are you even forming this post if you play Horde and don;t care? Also Brother Pike’s wiki also say a human tidesage, first line again. Feel free to look. Just because we are in Kultiras, doesn’t mean everyone there is Kul’Tiran by birth. That would be like saying all people in SW are humans, and they sure are not.
Because that version of a human has different racials, different classes, and a unique set of armor.
Or is that not more important than the model?
Because I’m able to argue outside of what directly affects me.
Also Kul Tirans are humans. Good troll though, I didn’t catch on until just now.
No. Its not more important than the model. Models will always be (and rightfully so) the driving force behind any allied race options.
Wait. Is this just about getting the current playable human models access to shaman and druids?
