Kul Tiran and Zandalari Unlock Requirements

True, but it kind of adds insult to injury that not only do we have to do quest chains but a whole damn 12-24 hour mission :frowning:

For the love of god why on earth would time gate these two races even more with a 12 f$%^ing hour table mission quest???

Thatā€™s not even content , Iā€™ve pushed the button and now I canā€™t go any further toward the new race for 12 hours ā€¦so why should I even stay logged in?

And now that Iā€™ve unlocked ZT, Iā€™m literally emarassed for Bliz how they did this. They could have copied the BEs and made it troll themed on an island and it would have been more engaging than this quest line. Holy cats this was bad.

I donā€™t think you are missing too much with this one. Dark IRONS FTW!

I know nobody at Blizzard cares, and the white knights and playbetters will all jump on me for this, but Iā€™ve just cancelled my sub after 15 years. The unlock requirements for the Allied Races is absurd, given that every other expansion that included a race, INCLUDED the race, and you could start a character with that race.

Iā€™m old, I have severe arthritis, and I cannot play fast or well enough to tank a heroic. It wouldnā€™t be fair to the other players. And the game expects me to pug a heroic raid to unlock content I paid for when I bought the expansion? And level a character on the Horde side, and do their expansion too? Thatā€™s ridiculous.

Some of us are casual players, we have maybe a couple hours a week to play. We arenā€™t your content locusts, we arenā€™t super geared raiders, we arenā€™t top tier players. Weā€™re grandmothers and moms, grandfathers and dads, we play because we like the communities weā€™ve built, we like seeing the scenery, we like following the story, we like doing crafting and fishing and seeing old content we missed as we leveled. We are the player equivalent of a barā€™s regulars; reliably solid, consistently paying, players.

If you had advertised that I would only be able to play the Allied Races after having max level characters do almost the entire expansion on both sides, I wouldnā€™t have purchased it. And lots of other people wouldnā€™t have purchased it. You know that. You deliberately misled us. This expansion is a textbook example of Bait and Switch.

I am angry that you didnā€™t include information in your sales propaganda that the races were locked behind such restrictive gates. Iā€™m angry that the game itself didnā€™t include instructions on what needed to be done, or provide an easy way to track progress towards it. Not everyone has time to hang out on the forums or wowhead. Iā€™m angry that Iā€™ve dedicated ridiculous amounts of time and energy, only to be blocked at the end. And then to find out Iā€™d have to do it all over again, after raising a Horde to the appropriate level, just to get the Zanda, which again, I reiterate, I PAID for when I bought the expansion.

So yeah, Iā€™m angry I bought the expansion. Iā€™m angry that I spent so much time on it. Iā€™m angry that I still donā€™t, and probably will never have the content I paid for. Iā€™m angry that this is likely to be my final memory of 15 years playing WoW.
Iā€™m angry that ActiBliz has decided to use casino psychology to drive player engagement rather than compelling content.

And while your Q2 reports may continue to show inflationary numbers because people stayed to see the races they paid for, Iā€™m willing to bet your sub numbers take a huge hit when the casuals who donā€™t read forums log on today and find out they still canā€™t access the new races, and they have to do all three zones and all the dungeons and a heroic raid before they can start their new character.

In conclusion, this is infuriating, and I am infuriated. I am sure Iā€™m not alone.

Four, not eight. We had four introduced and playable in the last expansion, four in this one. And yes, they could do better, like not locking them behind all the BS that they have. Theyā€™re not having to come up with whole new starting areas and 1-20 level new quests like they did in BC and Cata, theyā€™re just dumping them at 20 into the faction city. Which isnā€™t that bad of an idea but Iā€™m pretty sure that was more to cut corners on their end than to add convenience on ours.

It would have been nice to play the content WITH the new races, rather than having to play it through at least twice (once per faction) to get to the races, and then make us grind out a whole 100 levels per race for their cosmetic xmogs (which really should have been unlocked with the race itself).

So, as a horde player, Iā€™ve completed Tides, Zandalar Forever and am exalted with the Zandalariā€¦.so why are the trolls still locked? What have I missed?

stuck at the council has spoken, not workingā€¦
edit : it was wm

Same here they are completed. When i click on the Zandalari they are greyed out and where it shows the quests needed for unlock they are all red, even though I have them completed.

Same issue here. I have all the required achievements and reputation. I still cannot create a Zandalari troll.

BFA was announced during legion, allied races included, man I was pumped to play a new troll druid, then bfa goes live and the races arent availableā€¦stuck behind the ever increasingly common practice of time gating, classes not available as expectedā€¦more than likely because some bean counter wants to see play time metrics increased, instead of giving players what they want and expect. Then months after release, hey guys its time for those races to go live, only you canā€™t have them if youā€™ve been waiting on them since the initial announcement unless you do a whole slew of things that arenā€™t enjoyable, because we want to you just spend time in the game. Want to pay to access a game to play your way? Too bad, gotta play our way first. Iā€™ve been a hardcore blizzard fan since the beginning and WC1ā€¦I remember a time when they cared about what the players wanted. Now its all bout the activision cash grabā€¦going the way of EA. shame.

According to the attunement at wowhead, Iā€™ve satisfied all the requirements but still cannot create a Kulā€™tiran character. I submitted a help ticket to find out why the button on the character create screen says Preview rather than Customize.

There was a quest chain to go see Magni in Nazmir. As far as I know, I completed that quest. Is there some need to wait 77 cycles (however long that takes)? Why would we not be told this?

Go to the embassy in Stormwind, thereā€™s a quest chain there starting with Jaina. They send you through a long and absolutely mind numbingly boring chain of fetch quests from one end of Kul Tiras to the other to unlock the race from there.

Thanks very much.

My lack of intuition is only exceeded by Blizzardā€™s lack of intuitiveness and clarity.

In case you didnā€™t find out yet, I am able to do the KT questline on my exalted character even though I earned the achievements on other characters. :+1:

It just doesnā€™t translate over to Horde, so I will still have to finish my Horde rep to get my Zandas.

No we didnā€™t.

These requirements make me wanna cwy.

I checked my requirements to play the Kul Tiran. The only thing I need is the Proudmore Admiralty rep up. However, my A Nation United achievement is complete, but itā€™s not awarded. Is this because the races arenā€™t ready at launch?

Now what? Iā€™ve got the requirements. Is some sort of quest supposed to appear in Zuldazar? Because Nathanos offers me nothing and neither does anyone in dazarā€™alor.
