No more players buying boosts on one toon to unlock upgrades for all their toons.
Alternatively, they have added many new valor upgrade tiers so it will be possible for your alts to progress independently
Its because of boosters.
When has blizz ever considered gameplay that promotes token sales to be a bad thing?

Yes that is correct. Currently it is based on your Mythic+ score of that character itself.
A completely idiotic change
This is coming from someone who had over 100 timed +15s across 3 toons. Who got KSM on said 3 toons.
I love M+, by far my favorite part of the game…but this change is completely out of touch with the playerbase

I actually view these changes as meaning that people will buy more carries… for all their alts now… It’s no longer one and done.

So you think instead of 1.4 million gold KSM cost in 9.0…everyone is going to spend 2.8 million per toon in 9.1?

That’s assuming prices remain at current levels. Prices could drop a bit to accommodate the need to now run alts through to KSM to gear them. Or they could go up and whales will fill the void. Hard to say but personally I’m not in favor of this change. I didn’t buy any boost of PvE or PvP in 9.0 so this stings a bit. One more slight nudge toward that unsub button.
I think when ppl hit skill caps or get close to one of the new mythic rating levels they will feel urge to buy that carry to get past.
There might actually be a market for selling carrys to certain levels of the new mythic rating system like in pvp…
Yeah…but now you have to win a PVP match at your rating every week or it starts to go down.
So PVP carries probably won’t be much of a thing going forward either.
The changes are a good first step to reduce boosting, personally I wouldnt risk being a booster in the current incarnation of wow too much risk of the boosting community accepting RMT for boosts as they prep to move on to other games (which will leave the players doing the work banned).
WoW has positioned itself poorly in the era where it has perhaps the most competition ever, even deciding to compete with itslef with tbcc and retail releasing updates close together so my entire guild is still playing tbcc as they are enjoying it more than retail.
Group finder is getting worse there was 3 boe runs for heroic/mythic SoD last night 17 advertisers and 1 waitlist group. Normal mode had 2 groups after clearing the ads
I think it’s time for certain Devs to be fired, not going to name them but i think this would Improve the game.
I know…what where they thinking!? How are they going to sell tokens if they design the systems to make carries worthless!!
is it that grim on alliance? i’m looking here now and i see 7 pages of normal mode groups, with only 2 sale ads out of all of that.
It was pretty grim last night, that being said at best we have 5 or so viable listings for alliance after clearing the ads.
Nah im talking way before this when they introduced the Toxic Seasonal affix and the Permanent 2 affixes and the new KSM which is all dungeons instead of a single like in legion.
