I spent more time than I wanted to trying to complete this today… on top of removing weapon also disable your addons… it worked for me then to finally complete
Amazing. It is still broken. I hear the sound however nothing happens. Really stupid way to stunt progression, why even use the damn laser, just let me click the hut,
Seems that the instance is bugged, I accepted a LFG, did a dungeon and when I came back it worked first try.
So the fix I apparently found is, don’t pick up the laser until you do everything else. Wait to see if the laser is doing a pulsing animation occasionally also since I didn’t see that beforehand.

Demonicelves solution worked for me. I disabled addons which I don’t think was necessary, at the point I tried this though I was stuck there for 20 minutes so I was desperate.

October 2021 and still an issue… well, that’s super
January 2022 and this is still an issue. Happened for me today.

I did /reload and the gun thing worked, not sure the cause but this fixed it for me instantly.
yah, this is still bugged, /reload, relogg, restart game, nope , this is busted.
same issue here, tried logging out and it did nothing, but i left it for 30 mins, came back and it was fixed.
Just had the same issue, did a /reload ui, and it worked fine after targetting the hut.
Had the same problem as of June 6th. Tried the following steps:
1st) Reloaded UI = didn’t fix
2nd) Disabled all addons = didn’t fix
3rd) Reloaded UI and abandoned the quest after disabling addons = didn’t fix
4th) Exit the game and loaded it again with addons disabled after abandoning the quest once more = Quest worked
Still a bug almost 2 years after your post
07-27-2022. Received this bug. Un-equipping weapon (placing in bags) worked instantly.

Hey all! Old thread but just in case anyone runs into this, my friend had a solution.
Abandon the quest and pick it back up. However, don’t move. As soon as you start the quest, use the item and then you should be able to proceed after it finishes channeling.
