It’s absolutely catch up gear for alts and casual solo players. You want to use it as a secondary purpose to fill in gaps for your raid gear? Fine. But that’s not what it’s there for.

What is Korthian Gear?

Korthian Gear is a gearing system in Patch 9.1, Chains of Domination similar to Legion’s Relinquished gear and Battle for Azeroth’s Benthic gear. This system allows players to obtain bind-on-account ilvl 200 gear and upgrade to just above Normal Sanctum of Domination gear (233 Item Level) by doing world content in Korthia.

And what was Relinquished and Benthic gear? Catch-up gear.

It gear for super casuals but it is not catch up gear for alts. Unless you are a complete idiot and want to spend significantly more time on an alt than a main.

This, so this. The renown requirements are much more onerous than anything else. Right now, if you’re tier 6, you still cannot upgrade beyond iLevel 220. In two weeks it will be 226 at renown 61. Renown 75, which gates 233, is what, October? Even the most casual of raiders will be in Heroic by then.

This is by far the most annoying part. Never mind the grind – the time gate even if you do the grind makes it all pointless except for sockets and a pair of gloves.

Even those that only run mythic 0 dungeons can upgrade to iLevel 226 already. The renown gate is just silly.

Literally just posted two different sites telling you it’s catch up gear. And who the hell is going to mostly use catch-up gear? Alts. Know why it’s catch-up gear for alts? Because they hit 60 and in the same day go straight to ilevel 200 and can then upgrade it. Spend a half hour or so a day and they can upgrade it by two ranks. There’s no “significantly more time.” Clearly you have no idea what you’re talking about.

There’s literally nothing wrong with it. It’s a catch up mechanic and solo gearing path for casuals. Those who run group end game content are meaningless. This system isn’t for you. People whined that the Covenant set was so quick to max out and it was too low. They spaced out the time and made the ilevel higher and now people whine more.

None of you will ever be happy.

This expansion is crap. But this gearing system is not. Deal with it or run group content.

You CAN’T farm rares nonstop because there are only so many rares that spawn every day and you can only loot them once per day. You can’t even farm trash mobs nonstop since even the “purple” ones that drop fragments are limited to 15 kills per day.

It’s impossible to 24/7 Korthia rep. And it doesn’t take forever, a bunch of people have already finished.

Garbage go away troll easy keys blow thru normal raids will have you far past korthia gear way before most even have rank 6 the annoying research drop rate is as bad as anima was lol.
