Korrak's Revenge is back!

Yup.

Alliance gives up like 80% of the map when they turtle, and by the time they’re put into a losing turtle a large chunk of the pugs will have given up/stopped trying/etc.

It’s always amusing reading all the “just let horde win” comments posted in the chat, when if they really wanted to get out fast they would just stop defending/turtling the bridge so hard

But nope, instead these pugs will just mindlessly and stubbornly defend the bridge… turning a 10 minute loss into a 60-90 minute loss, it never crosses their minds that they are just wasting time/prolonging an obvious loss🤦‍♂️

The bridge is a great place to farm kills though, so it all depends what your goals are.

For these moments if on a stealthy able class/spec…I’d sneak out and go find me some 1 v 1. The match is a crap show at that point. MY thinking was lets make the most of it.

Found some nice 1 v 1’s too. You learn alot from even losses in 1 v1 I find. What did I do wrong? the question this forces you to ask.

As KAV flat scales everyone. so its not like normal AV. 55K bear…you 35K something else…don’t need wowhead to tell you their gear is better than yours lol. and death is pretty much a no brainer for you the result.

And no healers. We both got our self heal. thats it. Make it last…

Best strats I saw for alliance involved defending our furthest tower, killing their captains and commanders and hitting 3 places at once.

The issue is how hard it is to get a pug to do this highly coordinated play every match. Whereas horde strat is extremely pug friendly. Zugzug, hit building one at a time and walk in straight line. Alliance can’t defend from 40 horde at once and they can’t get to their tower because we’re already inside spamming aoe and slows at the door.

I hated the KOrrack hunters. Messed up plans in milliseconds flat. And alliance had more of them. Horde many knew the way.

So for any noobs to this…and for vets seeing this for the 1500000000 time:

Do not kill or ask to kill Korrack in the BG.

Kill him on your time in northrend. Much easier. and…the gy he is on is the worst objective on the map to take. For any side. Loses have many things in common in (K)AV. taking this GY is one of them lol.

even better when the korrack hunters failed to kill but took the gy. Have to rush off ASAP on respawn since korrack was there to stomp your butt. Hated it when that happened.

Other than the layout of this Vanilla map, Alliance’s biggest handicap is probably the sheer amount of PvE questers and afkers that sign up to Korrak AV.

When you factor out all the afk/do-nothing players it’s almost like you’re trying to play with a 25-man team

I’m sure there’s some afkers on the Horde side as well (but less likely due to the long queue times), so let’s say the typical match is 25 “active” Alliance vs 35 “active” Horde… that 10 player deficit is going to be noticeable in teamfights, at objectives, etc. Just a lot of dead weight on Alliance that makes it hard to win, it’s unfortunate.

Oh boy! I can farm more pvp appearance tokens because I got the ram last year! This is actually a boon for me because I only have two stacks of 12 left and there’s other pvp sets I wanna get my hands on.

I doubt we will. We don’t get renown from Timewalking, either.

Yep. MInes only works when its time to wake up the big boys.

In a proper AV…there should be no need for the big boys lol.

also doesn’t help with the lesser pvp numbers (no alliance insult…less pvp there is jsut a fact) they come in pve geared.

Versatility…the loved pvp stat. PVE…no so much for any classes.

Horde having more in pvp gear can make out good here. Horde rolls in here going yep…I got that 30% vers. we good.
alliance has the pve stat who is say crit/mastery heavy. Nice for raid. bad for pvp.

so for alliance to have a better time …don’t throw out the vers gear. Vers is life. Life is vers. wear that drop here.

As yeah I got a few alliance I’d touch up here if the xp is there. I ain’t a 30% vers or you suck zealot. But…I’d like to see 15% from these people lol.

Oh you just reminded me of the other huge discrepancy.

Ivus blows. The icicle boy increases his damage with every alliance player he kills until he gets to the point that he just one shots anything he farts on. I have no idea what Ivus’ special ability is, unless getting kited and dying is special.

I think both big boys are kind of meh here.

Never really saw why they get raised even.

I mean in ashran I know why we wake up treesus and rocky.

Assuming gladiators dealt with they are the key to pin and hold and at the bridges to run out points. If not push for commander kill.

KAV…the big boys are dead in mids more often than not lol. Even if you get the people to escort them. I have them about as useful as ogre in ashran. that is to say…useless. As that ogre dies so fast its not even funny.

The first time it was up in 2019 I spent a good deal of time in there leveling alts.

Started noticing a certain Feral Druid pug that would somehow glitch his way “outside” the map… like literally his “dot” on the radar didn’t even show on the map :joy:

No one knew where he was or how he got out of the map. In one match some pugs finally called him out, and this Druid was like “alright alright i’ll come back, dont report me”, and magically his orange Druid dot suddenly came back onto the map (from the left edges of map)

Besides proving he did it deliberately/intentionally and that it was not an accident, just goes to show you the lengths/exploits some of these dudes will go to in order to avoid playing their character.

First year was good and dare I say fun, the 2nd was terrible for xp.

Shame that. Druids are really fun to play here. Backcap, picking off afks for giggles. Druid has fun options here.

hell pick off enough afk’s you can sneak in a few minutes of yourself. Got the kills and damage to update the boards…you can sneak in a minute or 2 to get drink or something.

AV is as good as it gets for them really imo. IOC druids are kamikaze runs. Sneak in and kill the glaive/demo. Hope you live. Not likely. WG…meat grinder BT/SR, the parks so not as fun here.

They nerfed it I’m not interested.

Just go down into that ravine below the middle bunker, and you will find plenty of folks afk lol. First time I did AV of old a few years ago, and would always see a few people head to the right just outside of Vandars pad lol. Decided to check it out, and sure enough there was always someone trying to hide behind a tree, or something down in that ravine haha. My guess, is that was probably why they nerfed the xp for the event. A few bad apples can spoil the orchard it seems lol.

Loved the first iteration of KR, it was awesome! \o/ Second time around was nerfed horribly. :stuck_out_tongue:

If they nerfed it classic SOM also dropping at same time is looking better.

People speed leveled old setup. Now they can do it faster if I read right. NO xp in KAV this is where I may be after I do some renown hits on chars close to 80 lol.

As I have a vague interest to see what their vision of faster leveling is for classic.

You forget that most Alliance pvp’ers are already Horde by now. Only the scrappies remain.
