This logic would make sense back in 2006 when players ran around with all kinds of wacky gear combos.
But now everyone is min/maxed. Everyone is wearing the same gear. And the variations are so negligible. Especially at 25.
On my druid I look like a freshly dinged 25 in my boomkin gear. But I will probably 2 shot you. Because I’m running full arcane gear which shares the appearance of all kinds of other random gear. It’s almost transmogged already tbh.

This is hilarious. They are too lazy to do that but not too lazy to enjoy running to SFK for 30 minutes then spamming LFG for another hour just to actually play for 30 minutes.
Few people that are really against transmog are so to avoid inspecting. Sure that is also a downgrade, but it is non-impactful.
The impact is not seeing the gear of your enemies, not your allies. It greatly reduces the quality of pvp for multiple reasons stated in this tread.

Nah at 60 nearly everyone you will see will have a few different items - because it is really time consuming to be full bis - but also because people have different pvp playstyles and will gear accordingly.
Nobody cares about level 25, transmog is an issue at 60 - if they add it now they won’t take it away later. So they cannot add it or pvp is dead (it is basically already dead with wsg dmg nerf and resil helm) but it will be even more dead if they add transmog. No chance any good pvp players remain at that point - it will be just like retail - which it seems like that’s what you want.

I don’t want retail because every class has over the top spells. They can summon an army of pets. They have every cc. Every counter. Every class can do everything.
Transmog =/= retail. You’re just being silly when saying that.
Don’t get them started on some tiny little off-hand that they can’t even see 90% of the time to know whether or not to engage or not.
I’d actually be down for t mog if it was a huge gold sink and it only applied to what you see and not the rest of the world.

Nobody is arguing that transmog will make pvp worse for pugs. Y’all already just run around mid like headless chickens. With or without it nothing changes.
But gamers that are having serious team v team pvp, actually care about the little things - because those are what make the diff between a win and loss when you reach a certain skill level and all the basics are mastered.

Real pro pvp players can see what’s going on without needing to hypet analyze every armor piece a player is wearing
I would be fine with that transmog, idc what people do client side and it would not negatively impact pvp.
But there was a thread in retail forums a while back about adding a feature to ‘disable the transmog’ of other and see their real gear. And the retailers went ape on the person who posted it about how important the transmog is to their identity and how bad it would be for them to be able to turn it off.
Transmog never ever and enjoying the retail seethe aside, do retail players legit know so little abound the vanilla community that they don’t know about f r e s h ??? Really? Do you think people really want to just farm naxx on a all content out server?

the bottom line is it is a waste of developer time on a seasonal game, and it will have negative gameplay effects whether you think they are small or big.
game doesn’t need collections or wardrobes to fill the void like other versions.

From the countless posts I’ve read since SOD started. The classic die hards are unstable and can’t be satisfied. You complain about balance but don’t want solutions to fix this, reject anything qol changes, dislike anything that actually makes the game different but here you are on SOD where the game is different. You have era it is not going anywhere or changing, go live in your 20 year old safe space… a lot of people want something different that isn’t retail but not the same 20 year old out dated pos game.
Go make season of retail if you want transmog…
