Kill and plunder, but don't spit

This is a game where we are rewarded by ending the virtual lives of our enemies, whether hapless NPC or faction rival.

We are expected to kill anything and anyone in our way, even if they are simple animals or isolated indigenous and sentient beings that aren’t actively harming anyone.

Killing is the only way to progress your character through the game. Otherwise, have fun being a punching bag for the rest of the world.

It’s literally kill or be killed.

When you look at how the classes perform these deeds, things become even more grisly.

We hack, slash, bash, poison, burn, freeze, and maim.

Some classes get darker than that even. For example, Warlocks summon demons and extract souls to fuel their fel magics. Not to mention class quests like ripping out the hearts of good men to summon a succubus.

And why do we do all this? To empower ourselves and fill our own pockets. Congratulations, we are playing a colonialism simulator.

But somehow spitting crosses a line?

If spitting is too offensive, this entire game should be deleted.

Maybe the spit emote should have an RNG chance to miss or accidently spit into the wind and come back at you. That might make it more fun.

Don’t forget torture. There are literal torture quests in WOW.

Blizzard is totally right to remove the super toxic /spit it simply promotes too much toxicity.

I think a good change is that when you /spit it gets converted to /love so that everyone feels equally appreciated and valued and as we all know, blizzard is all about sharing their love and affection I think this change will be easy to push through.

Blizzard is normalizing Murder by having it in their game and I demand it be removed!

I agree with your whole post, but for this part I just wanted to say that I would not be the least surprised if there are not already people out there planning to push for this very thing, and including all games of this type. If it does become a thing, and if the “woke” Mob jumps on the bandwagon, then we can kiss these games goodbye and resign ourselves to nothing-worth-playing-online-anymore.

I’d love to see how some people are going to be feeling if/when the day comes when they get all they’ve been asking for, and realize they only have themselves to blame.

That’s a really good idea. I mean did anyone ever consider asking Edwin Vancleef to sit down and talk about his feelings instead of just cutting his head off? Maybe he’d appreciate the care shown and no longer pillage westfall and even give us free loot for our time.

I giggled more than i am willing to admit! A brilliant idea just in itself. Adding a visual to that would be too much, hahaa!

I’ve killed people in real life.

I never disrespected them, or myself, by spitting on them.

Everyone’s just going to use a different emote instead.

What next, is Blizzard going to ban /slap? And then ban /rude? And then ban /lol and /rofl? And then just remove the emote system entirely? All because of some babies who can’t handle someone making a rude gesture at them in an online game.

I wanted to see exotic Nagrand… the crown jewel of the Outlands. I wanted to meet interesting and stimulating people of an ancient culture… and kill them. I wanted to be the first kid on my block to get a confirmed kill!

Because chances are, if you did kill them you did it in accordance with the Geneva Convention or Law Enforcement protocols.

I bet you didn’t stab them with a poison blade, bash their skull with a mace, burn them, or curse them.

Yet we regularly do all of those things in game.

thought you were going a whole different direction.

How about those poor dranei that likes to roleplay in goldshire and enjoy get spit in their mouth?

#freerolplay

The Geneva Convention isn’t why I don’t spit on people.

Self-respect is why I don’t spit on people.

I /spit on all the corpses of those who have died, many decapitated with severed limbs by my blade.

/spit allows me to be more engaged and immersed in my role play as a slayer of the disgusting, filthy orcs that inhabit Azeroth.

Without /spit I just don’t know how else to achieve that level of immersion and I’ll probably be unsubbing.

Please reconsider removing /spit so I can continue to be completely immersed in my role as a vanquisher on the disgusting orc population.

So you’re OK with killing virtual people in extremely painful ways to empower and enrich yourself.

But virtual spitting is too much because it’s “disrespectful”?
